I was sitting next to Noel in Charlotte's car and I could feel her practically burn a hole on the side of my head. I couldn't bring myself to look at her. She would see right through me and know why I didn't answer the door right away. After I left my apartment I faced her wrath. Apparently our reservations were canceled because I took so long. They didn't have to wait for me, I would've been fine missing tea time with her friends.

"Now we have to wait another hour," I heard Rachel complained from the front seat. Her attempts to whisper were sad.

"The traffic is going to take about an hour anyways," I replied, rolling my eyes. "Nobody said you had to wait for me."

Rachel turned around and gave me a fake smile. "That's what I was talking about, the traffic. Of course it's not your fault we're late."

I glared at her and leaned forward. "What's your problem?"

Before she could reply Noel pushed me back into my seat and signaled Rachel to turn around. "Can you guys get along for once? Just until my wedding is over. You won't have to see each other after then."

"Hallelujah!" I exclaimed, earning giggles from Charlotte. Rachel turned to glare at her. She gave her a shy smile, still amused from my outburst.

"What? It was funny," she replied, getting off the highway.

We just entered Manhattan and out of Brooklyn. It seemed like I was the only one who lived in Brooklyn. I didn't keep tabs on Rachel and Charlotte, I could care less about where they live.

"Would it hurt you to get along with her?" Noel whispered to me, sounding angry.

"Yes," I replied, looking at her.

"Why do you always have to make everything so difficult? The better question is, why do you hate her so much?"

I gaped at her. "She starts everything Noel! Why are you scolding me?"

"The only problem I see is you," Noel retorted. She looked away from me and out of the window.

"Did I do something?" I asked, feeling a little weird. Noel never acted like this before. "Are you mad at me?"

Noel crossed her arms and looked back at me. "Since when did we start keeping secrets from each other?"

I gulped and stared at her. There was no way she would've known Tobias was over. He was in my bedroom when I left. Noel couldn't have seen him, she would've said something sooner.

"What do you mean?" I asked, hoping that she knew nothing about Tobias.

"Cut the crap Reign. You've been distant and secretive," she complained. "You've been absent for one of the dress fittings and you seem to have no interest in helping me for my wedding anymore! What kind of maid of honor are you?"

"I think you're overreacting. I was just spent the night over your house a couple of days ago! And-"

"After I practically begged you."

"I've been busy," I stubbornly replied.

"Yeah? And you don't think I haven't been?"

"You can't be mad at me for having a life," I argued. I was started to get irritated.

"I can be if you're not including me in the important aspects of it."

I let out a dry chuckle. Charlotte pulled into The SoHo Grand hotel where we were going to eat and then spend the night in one of the rooms. To be honest I didn't know what they had planned for tonight. Frankly, I was too scared to ask. Probably do something cheesy like dress each other up in toilet paper while trying to make it look like a wedding dress.

"You don't need to know everything about me just like I don't need to know everything about you," I argued.

"Are you hearing yourself right now? You always tell me everything and I do the same. I can't believe you just said that," Noel said, sounding hurt.

She got out of the car and slammed the door behind her. I stared at the door in shock. Was I acting weird? Was being with Tobias really changing me? I got out of the car as well and saw Noel standing outside the hotel with her arms crossed.

I sighed and walked up to her. "Remember that night when I told you I'll tell you what's going on after your wedding? Well I can't tell you now and I mean it."

"Why?" Noel asked, glaring at me. "Reign, you never kept anything from me. Not even the times where I begged for you to not tell me the vivid details of your crazy freshman years at Columbia. What happened to you? What happened to us?"

"Nothing happened to us," I said, shaking my head. "We're still best friends, two peas in a pod. I... I just can't tell you right now."

Charlotte and Rachel appeared next to us, each of them carrying their own duffle bags. I saw Rachel carrying another one and I assumed it was Noel's. I glared at her as she looked me down.

"After all we been through, you can't tell me this?" She asked, bewildered.

"You're making it a bigger deal than it already is." I gritted my teeth and dug my finger nails in my fist. "Can we please talk about this later, somewhere more private?"

Noel followed my eyes and looked behind her. She scuffed at me when she saw both Charlotte and Rachel inches away from us, where they could hear us clearly.

"No we can't Reign. You know what? Why don't you just leave? It's obvious you don't want to be here anyways."

I stared at her, shocked at her harsh words. "I do want to be here. I want to be here for you."

"I hope whatever it is you're hiding is worth it," Noel replied, giving me a sad look. "I really do."

Noel shook her head and turned around with her friends, leaving me outside The SoHo Grand hotel, feeling cold and alone.

Hmm.. Some tension going on! What do you think Noel knows? It must be pretty serious if she asked her to leave. Another short chapter, I need to think about what's going to happen next.
