How do you break free from the chains you've already trapped yourself in? I got myself stuck here trying to protect myself but now...I felt like I was just being forced to watch as the world moved by without me. I could see him fading away from me, but as much as he stared back at me as if he wanted me to chase after him, I couldn't break free. Just let me out stupid chains...let me follow him. Let me run to him and grasp him tightly so he won't fade away any more. Just loosen up a little, chains of protection, it'll only hurt a little, just this once...let me break you so that I can get him...

I awoke in my bed on Friday morning feeling stiff. My back ached from how I'd been tossing and turning throughout the night. I think metaphorical nightmares are worse than dreams of real memories. It digs me too deep into my subconscious and I end up in parts of my mind I don't like to be in.
I could hear the radio from my room, echoing through the walls as the presenter waffled on about today's weather forecast.
I got up, grabbed my towel and walked over to my bathroom.

"Morning Hanbinnie! It's a nice morning this morning, finally looking like T-shirt weather." Matthew chirped as he took a bite out of a croissant.
"T-shirt weather? Didn't it say it would rain later?" I retorted with a chuckle.
"Well yeah but I'll be home by then, nothing to worry about!"
He smiled brightly.
I shook my head as I subconsciously broke into a grin myself. I lifted my bag from the coat hanger and turned to him.
"I'll see you later, I'm going first."
"Okayyy, bye bye!" He waved.
I waved back before I turned to the door and saw myself out.

He was right, it was nice this morning.

And yet, all I felt was utterly exhausted.

This time without Hao around seemed to drain everything out of me, especially since that call last night. I wanted it to just be a part of my nightmare, but, when I checked my phone as I sat at the bus stop I saw the call on my recent phone calls. It was real. Yuxuan had answered his phone for him, and what made it worse was that Hao hadn't called back or even messaged to explain what had happened.
"Busy"
what a load of crap. It made me feel sick thinking about it. It felt like a swarm of wasps were buzzing around my head, ready to sting me at any moment.

"Hyung!!"
I knew that voice. I couldn't help but smile softly as I turned my head to see him approaching in his neat school uniform.
"Gyuvin," I replied as he sat beside me.
"I'm excited for tonight~"
That's right...we had plans to go out tonight.
"Oh yeah- where are we going to meet?" I asked.
He thought for a second.
"We could go to that nice pub down the street from here. They have nice food and they always have live music on." He suggested.
I nodded.
"Sounds good, just text me whenever you're there and I'll meet you."

We continued our conversation and parted when my bus arrived. At least I had something to take my mind off everything now, I could get drunk for the night and enjoy myself for the first time in a while. I was relieved to have Gyuvin right now.

The day went on as normal, work went by, time went by. I made my way home at five and got ready to meet Gyuvin.
