Y/N forcefully pushed away all of her thoughts and worry. She didn't want her worry to ruin her focus and fail the mission. She made sure no part of her mind thought about anything but ways to exorcise the curse, for now at least. Though a challenge, her rational part of her mind made it possible.
"Yamato Tower, a 43 years old building. The hotel's known for its beautiful view and its professional services. From the past 2 weeks, there have been several reports of missing females in this residential building. This news highly affected the it's reputation" Ijichi shared the information.
"Though it's rank not confirmed, there is a major cursed spirit lurking here. Also, the its rank won't probably be higher than Grade 2" he added.
"And all the residents within a radius of 500 meters have been evacuated," he informed.
"Yes. We will get going now," Yuji and Y/N exclaimed simultaneously, their demeanour serious and focused.
"Good luck," he said and watched them leave.
They both made their way inside the gate, followed by them entering the main building.
"Emerge from darkness, that which is darker than black. Purify this impurity," as Ijichi completed his sentence, a dark veil covered the hotel.
As they entered they saw an empty reception table and a two set of couches few metres away from it with a small table covered with a red tablecloth. The interior of the place beige and its walls flawless. The carpet was of deep red color, attracting the attention of the people amidst the sandy background.
"Woah, 43 years and it looks as good as new," Y/N remarked as she looked around the place with surprise.
Yuji nodded in agreement with his mouth slightly open, he too appreciated the beauty. They both were too busy complimenting the place that they had completely forgotten that a spirit lurked in here.
The two continued to walk ahead, now entering the main area where the rooms were. The first floor had only 2 small rooms, it seemed like the rooms were to hold in the luggage or just for a quick use, like using the restroom.
They exchanged an uncertain look before climbing up the stairs. Stepping into the eerie silenced hallway, it contained 6 doors and bright white lights above it. They climbed up a few floors until a certain floor of the building's sight made a shiver run down their spine.
This level contained long hallway with numerous rooms, the closed doors had a dim yellow light on top, some of the lights flickered weakly. The hallway was stretched out to a point where they couldn't see anything but darkness. It was a spooky sight. Y/N gulped and her hand subconsciously hovered over her sheathed weapon. The sight made her utter just one word.
"Cursed,"
Yuji gave her a tiny nod.
"We'll have to go and check. Y/N, stay right behind me," he said, his voice steady and focused.
She looked at him before giving him a determined nod. Relaxing their body minimally, they advanced, their footsteps as silent as an assassin. Both of their faces were etched with determination while their senses were on high alert to locate any movement—to hear any noise of the threat.
As they proceeded, they observed the place. Now, the second door bore faint scratches, while a next one had dark smudges. The carpet beneath them also had inky smudges and a few ruffles and threads pointing out towards the ceiling.
They continued to walk until the air around them suddenly felt weighted. The almost tangible pressure, making them freeze for a moment.
"Behind us," they both thought and in an instant they forced their body turn around to face whatever was behind them.
Their eyes widened to see a humanoid body creature, its skin utterly milky with blood dripping down its skin. It wore a one-shoulder draped ancient lavender tunic, its toned torso and V-shaped waist visible in the attire. Dark curved horns poked out its head and its luscious shoulder length hair of peachy color.
The creature had a sharp face and bold siren eyes. Its cheekbones were high and defined. A few silken hair strands falling across and covering its face. Everything about it—from the way it stood relaxed yet confident to tilt of its head was attracting. It was something drew it's prey in without them realizing.
Y/N's lips slightly parted at its presence. Her eyes scanning out the creature. She couldn't believe her eyes. She felt as if she was being pulled in by his charm. Until realisation hit her harshly, it was a cursed spirit.
"A young woman? How wondrously fortunate." it spoke, its voice smooth, deep and seductive.
Y/N felt lost in its voice but because of her mind being aware of its nature; instantly made her snap out of it. She shook her head and sneaked her hand towards her sheath now just centimetres away.
"A special grade," Yuji whispered, though scared, he understood it was useless to panic. He was ready to go all out.
Y/N nodded, both looking out for any movement from the cursed spirit.
"Such an appetising female~ Yield thyself unto me and I shall give you a rapturous night. One beyond mortal knowing," it said, it's voice mesmerising.
Y/N tightened her jaw, not responding to its words. It raised its hand up, looking at its nails, it spoke.
"Embrace my offer or perish," the voice changed to a menacing growl.
Before Y/N could process, the curse was cut into uncountable pieces, its body falling onto the ground. Slowly it started to disappear. Her eyes widened from shock and disbelief.
Before realisation hit her, a deep voice echoed from behind her making her swallow.
"Troublesome,"
