"Oh, I know," she said smoothly.
And then—just to make a point—
She reached down, grabbed Pin's hand, and intertwined their fingers.
Pin blinked.
Anil never did this.
Not in public.
She turned to her girlfriend, confused.
"Anil—"
Anil ignored her.
Instead, she looked directly at Nicha.
"Well, it was nice meeting you," Anil said.
Pin had never heard a threat sound so polite before.
Nicha smiled tightly.
"...Yeah. You too."
And with that, she walked away.
Anil did not watch her leave.
She just turned to Pin.
"Ready to go?"
Pin stared.
"...What was that?"
Anil blinked innocently.
"What was what?"
Pin narrowed her eyes.
"You got weird."
Anil scoffed.
"I was perfectly normal."
"No, you weren't."
Anil squeezed her hand.
"Well, maybe I didn't like how close she was standing."
Pin blinked.
"...You were jealous."
Anil's entire body stiffened.
"No."
Pin's lips twitched.
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes, you were."
Anil huffed.
"Whatever. Let's just go."
Pin grinned.
And for once—
She let herself enjoy this tiny bit of power.
----------
Later That Night...
Pin: You're still jealous, aren't you?
Anil: No.
Pin: 😏
Anil: Goodnight, Pin.
Pin: Goodnight, jealous girlfriend.
Anil: 😤
-------------
The next day Pin Woke Up Smiling.
Which was not normal.
She wasn't the type to wake up with a grin on her face.
Mornings were for yawning, stretching, and dragging herself out of bed in the least painful way possible.
But today?
Today, she woke up remembering.
Remembering Anil's pout.
Remembering how Anil had held her hand in public for the first time.
