Pin regretted everything.
Every. Single. Thing.
From the moment she had muttered that cursed "fine" in class, agreeing to Anil's ridiculous public declaration, her life had turned into a nightmare.
A loud, insufferable, and ridiculously charming nightmare.
Because Anil?
She had no chill.
--------
By the end of the school day, Anil had already made it everyone's business that she and Pin had a date on Saturday.
Pin couldn't walk down the hallway without hearing whispers.
Couldn't enter a classroom without being greeted by knowing smirks.
Couldn't even get through dinner at home without—
"So."
Pin froze.
That voice.
She knew that voice.
Slowly, she lifted her head from her plate to meet Mon's smirking face.
Sam sat beside her, equally amused.
On the other side of the table, Mom and Mama were watching, too.
Too interested. Too invested.
Pin swallowed.
Oh no.
"I heard you have a date," Mon said, grinning like she had just won the lottery.
Pin stabbed her rice aggressively.
"I hate you."
Mon laughed, clearly enjoying her suffering.
Mom and Mama exchanged a look—one of those annoying, telepathic parent looks.
Becky, Mama, the traitor, smiled.
"A date, huh?" she mused, resting her chin on her palm.
Freen, Mom, the other traitor, nodded.
"With Anilaphat?"
Pin wanted to disappear.
Her entire family was looking at her like she was some rare zoo animal:
Observe the Pilantita in her natural habitat—cornered, embarrassed, and questioning all her life choices.
Sam, of course, was no help.
In fact, she encouraged the interrogation.
"Anil is cute," she said.
Pin glared.
"I thought you were on my side."
Sam smirked.
"I am," she said. "That's why I think this will be fun."
Pin groaned.
It was going to be a long night.
------------
Pin had been staring at her closet for twenty minutes.
She had never cared about clothes before.
Ever.
But now?
Now she was stressing.
Because Anil was bold.
Anil was confident.
Anil was the kind of girl who would notice everything.
Which meant Pin couldn't just throw on whatever.
