Pin stared at her bedroom ceiling, her heart still beating too fast.
Her hand—the one that had held Anil's—still tingled.
She sighed, rolling onto her side and hugging her pillow.
What was happening to her?
She had always been a person who lived in the quiet.
The unnoticed spaces.
The safe, predictable routine of her world.
And then, somehow—some way—
Anilaphat had invaded that world.
And worst of all?
Pin wasn't even mad about it.
Her phone vibrated on her nightstand.
She already knew who it was before she picked it up.
Anil.
Anil: Can't sleep?
Pin hesitated before responding.
Pin: No.
A moment later—
Anil: Me neither.
Pin bit her lip.
She shouldn't reply.
She should tell Anil to go to sleep.
She should stop entertaining this ridiculousness.
Instead—
Pin: Why?
The answer came instantly.
Anil: Because I'm thinking about you.
Pin's heart flipped.
Pin: That's your own fault.
Anil: A fault I'm happy to have.
Pin rolled her eyes.
Pin: Go to sleep.
Anil: Say goodnight first.
Pin sighed.
Pin: Goodnight, Anil.
Anil: Goodnight, Pin. Dream of me. 😏
Pin put her phone face-down on her pillow.
This girl was impossible.
------------
The library was supposed to be a safe space.
A quiet, distraction-free sanctuary.
But ever since Anil started joining her study sessions—
That peace? Gone.
"Pin."
Pin ignored her.
"Pin."
Still ignored her.
"Pin, babe, my love, my light, my entire world—"
Pin slammed her book shut.
"What?"
Anil grinned.
"Wanna get ice cream?"
Pin exhaled slowly.
"We came here to study."
Anil shrugged. "And we will. After ice cream."
