Chapter 31: The Pursuit of Pilantita by Anilaphat

Start from the beginning

Anil grinned. "Your favorite."

Pin's heart betrayed her.

Anil had noticed her favorite drink?

Pin hated how warm that made her feel.

She picked up the cup, trying to suppress a smile.

"Bribery doesn't work on me."

Anil winked. "We'll see."

---------

At lunch, Pin sat in her usual spot—a quiet bench in the school garden.

And—of course—

Anil plopped down right beside her.

Pin sighed. "You again."

Anil nodded proudly.

"You love it."

Pin didn't answer.

She couldn't.

Because maybe—just maybe—

Anil was right.

Day Seven: The Grand Gesture

By the end of the week, everyone in school knew.

Anil wasn't exactly subtle.

People whispered in the hallways.

Teachers gave knowing smiles.

And worst of all—Mon found out.

Which meant Sam found out.

Which meant Mom and Mama found out.

Pin wanted to disappear.

But Anil?

Anil looked proud.

Like she was on a mission.

Like nothing in the world was going to stop her.

And then—

It happened.

---------

It was Friday.

Last class of the day.

Pin was halfway through solving a math problem when she heard it.

A voice—loud, confident, clear.

Coming from outside the classroom.

The entire class turned.

Pin's blood ran cold.

"Oh no," she whispered.

Because—

Anil.

Standing at the doorway.

Holding a ridiculously oversized sign.

PILANTITA, GO ON A DATE WITH ME.

The classroom erupted.

Laughter. Cheers. Shouting.

Pin wanted to die.

Her teacher sighed but smiled, clearly entertained.

Her classmates went wild.

Anil?

Anil was smug.

Pin buried her face in her hands.

"Oh my god."

Anil grinned.

"Well?" she asked, unbothered by the chaos.

Pin peeked through her fingers.

Anil was waiting.

Hopeful.

Unshaken.

And absolutely ridiculous.

Pin exhaled deeply.

Looked up at the ceiling. Prayed for patience.

Then—

She muttered, "Fine."

The class exploded.

Anil beamed.

And just like that—

Pin's first crush had turned into something far, far worse.
