Freen blinked at the message.

Then showed it to Becky, who burst out laughing.

"Guess we're meeting some fans," Becky smirked.

Freen sighed dramatically. "And here I thought I was just a regular mom."

Becky nudged her playfully. "Nope. You're Mom, the celebrity."

Freen groaned. "I just hope they don't make it awkward."

Becky smirked. "If they do, I'm totally making fun of you."

Freen rolled her eyes, but she couldn't hide her smile.

Saturday arrived faster than expected, and Mon was practically bouncing off the walls in excitement.

"Are they here yet?!" Mon called from the living room window for the tenth time in fifteen minutes.

Becky chuckled. "Baby, they're not gonna magically appear if you keep staring out the window."

Mon huffed. "But I want them to come faster!"

Freen, checking the time, smiled. "They should be here any min—"

Ding dong!

Mon sprinted to the door before Freen could even move.

Becky laughed. "We should get that before she rips the door off."

Freen opened the door to find Lia and her wife, June, standing there with Emma between them.

The moment they saw Freen and Becky, their eyes widened comically.

"Oh. My. God," Lia whispered, gripping June's arm.

June, looking equally stunned, nudged Lia hard. "Be cool. Be cool!"

Freen and Becky exchanged amused glances before greeting them warmly.

"Hi! You must be Lia and June," Becky said, offering her hand.

Lia grabbed Becky's hand like it was a sacred artifact. "I just—oh my God, we love you guys. Like, really, really love you guys."

June sighed. "She promised she wouldn't freak out. That lasted about two seconds."

Freen laughed. "We're just moms today, I promise."

Lia cleared her throat, trying to compose herself. "Right, right. Totally normal. Just two totally normal moms."

Emma, ignoring her mothers' dramatics, grabbed Mon's hand and grinned. "Wanna see my new bracelet?"

Mon nodded eagerly. "Yeah! Come meet my dogs!"

The two girls raced inside, already in their own little world.

Meanwhile, Lia and June stared after them, then turned back to Freen and Becky.

"Okay, we're good now," June said with a grin. "Can we pretend we didn't totally freak out five minutes ago?"

Becky smirked. "Only if you let me tell Freen about this forever."

Freen groaned. "Great. I'll never live this down."

Lia laughed. "Well, to be fair, I did keep it together longer than I expected."

With that, the ice officially broke, and soon, they were all laughing and chatting like they had known each other for years.

------------

The playdate was a huge success.

Mon and Emma spent the afternoon running around the backyard, playing dress-up, and making up stories.

Meanwhile, Lia and June turned out to be hilarious and easygoing, and soon, what started as a simple playdate turned into a full-blown hangout session for the moms, too.

By the end of the day, as Lia and June packed up to leave, Emma hugged Mon tightly.

"Can we do this again soon?"

Mon nodded enthusiastically. "Every weekend!"

Lia laughed. "We'll definitely plan another one soon."

As they left, Becky nudged Freen. "So, our daughter's got a best friend. And we might've just made some, too."

Freen smiled, watching Mon wave at Emma from the porch.

"Yeah," she murmured. "I think we did."
