"Okay, I packed an extra set of clothes just in case," Becky said, ticking items off her mental list. "A small towel, an extra mask, and her lunch."

Freen glanced over. "Did you put in the cute note?"

Becky smirked, holding up a small piece of paper.

In big, bold letters, it read:

"YOU'RE THE SMARTEST, CUTEST, COOLEST KID IN CLASS! Love, Mama & Mom ❤️"

Freen grinned. "Perfect."

Mon, who had been listening nearby, ran over to grab it. She looked at the note seriously, then nodded.

"This is good. My friends are gonna be jealous."

Freen and Becky laughed.

7:30 AM – The Uniform Moment

After breakfast, it was time to change.

Becky helped Mon into her tiny white blouse and navy-blue jumper, adjusting the buttons while Freen fixed her socks.

When they were finally done, Mon spun around in front of the mirror, looking at herself.

She looked so grown up.

Becky sighed dramatically.

"My baby looks like a teenager."

Freen nodded solemnly. "We should keep her home. Homeschool her forever."

Mon gasped. "No!"

Freen smirked. "No?"

Mon placed her hands on her hips, looking dead serious.

"Mom, I have a career to start."

Becky snorted. "A career?"

"Yes," Mon said, nodding. "I'm gonna be a scientist. And a singer. And maybe a superhero."

Freen grinned, scooping her up and spinning her around.

"You can be anything you want, baby," she whispered, pressing a kiss to her cheek.

Mon giggled. "I know!"

8:00 AM – The Drive to School

The car ride was a mix of emotions.

Mon was chattering away, swinging her feet as she talked about all the things she wanted to do today.

Freen was driving, but she kept glancing at Becky, who was quiet.

She knew that look.

Becky was holding it in.

Her emotions. Her worries. Everything.

So, at a red light, Freen reached over and gently squeezed her hand.

Becky exhaled.

"You okay?" Freen asked softly.

Becky smiled, though her eyes were a little glossy.

"Yeah. Just... can't believe she's this big already."

Freen nodded, feeling it too.

But before either of them could get too emotional—

"I'm gonna make SO MANY FRIENDS!" Mon declared from the back seat.

Freen and Becky laughed.

Yeah.

She was going to be just fine.

8:20 AM – The Drop-Off

The school parking lot was busy, filled with parents taking pictures, fixing uniforms, giving last-minute hugs.

Mon, however?

She was ready.

The second they unbuckled her, she grabbed her backpack and hopped out of the car.

Freen and Becky followed, watching as she looked around, taking everything in.

Becky knelt down first. "Baby, are you sure you're okay? You don't feel nervous at all?"

Mon shook her head firmly. "Nope!"

Freen chuckled, bending down beside them. "If you ever need anything, just tell your teacher, okay?"

Mon nodded. "I know, Mom."

Becky sighed. "Okay, okay. One more hug before you go."

Mon grinned and threw herself into Becky's arms.

Becky held her tight, kissing her cheek. "Have the best day, my love."

Mon then turned to Freen, who scooped her up in one last bear hug.

"Be the boss, baby," Freen whispered.

Mon giggled. "I will!"

And then—

Just like that—

She was off.

She turned once—just for a second—to give them a big wave.

Then she was gone.

Becky immediately let out a shaky breath.

Freen pulled her close.

"You okay, Mama?" she murmured.

Becky let out a small laugh.

"Yeah. I just—" She wiped at her eyes, sniffling. "She's so... big."

Freen kissed the side of her head.

"I know," she whispered. "But she's gonna be amazing."

Becky nodded. "Yeah. She really is."

And as they stood there, watching their five year old step into her biggest adventure yet—

They knew.

Their baby was growing up.

And they were so damn proud.
