Barry Allen had been The Flash for almost a year, but the wound from losing his best friend, Liam West—someone he had feelings for—during the particle accelerator explosion was still raw. It felt like it had happened just yesterday. Even though Barry had spent nine months in a coma, missing Liam's funeral, the grief never truly left him. He felt incomplete, as if something essential was missing from his life. That was, until Zoom arrived on Earth-1 and turned everything upside down.
Zoom kidnapped Harry Wells' daughter and sent a chilling message: he had someone of great importance to Barry in his lair. The person Zoom had taken wasn't just any hostage—this was Liam West from Earth-3, a version of Barry's best friend who was still alive in this alternate world. On Earth-3, Barry and Liam had been married, but tragically, Liam lost his Barry to a mugging. Now, he must come to terms with the fact that he's face-to-face with another Barry—a version of his beloved husband, but one who doesn't remember their life together.
