The youngest son of Chimney's foster family, Jake Lee, returns to Los Angeles to start fresh, opening his own floral shop. Years have passed since they last spoke, estranged from one another in the wake of his older brother's death. When Chimney unexpectedly walks into the shop to buy a bouquet for Maddie, the two are forced to confront their shared grief. Chimney believed Jake blamed him for their brother's death, while Jake feared he was nothing more than a painful reminder of the past. But deep down, all they ever wanted was to reconnect—and finally become a family again.
As Chimney welcomes Jake back into his life, he introduces him to his firehouse family, including Buck and Eddie. Buck, infamous for burning through relationships as quickly as a brushfire, and Eddie, still tethered to his ex-wife, never imagined they'd develop feelings for a man—let alone the same man. But Jake, despite the warmth he shows others, has built walls around his heart, terrified of loving and losing all over again. Love, after all, can be as beautiful as a rose—but just as easily, it can wound.
