After the "death" of Phil Coulson, he assembles a new S.H.I.E.L.D. team, bringing together Doctors Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons, alongside pilot Melinda May, specialist Grant Ward, and field agent Thomas Kane—the same Kane who once showed Fitz and Simmons kindness back at the Academy, leaving a mark Fitz never quite forgot.
