Travis Clearwater never imagined he'd become part of the legends he grew up hearing about. As the eldest sibling in the Clearwater family, he's always been the protector—looking out for his younger siblings, Leah and Seth. But after the tragic loss of his father, everything changes. The grief and turmoil of the pack lead to Travis's own transformation—his first shift into a wolf marking the beginning of a new chapter in his life.

As a newly phased wolf, Travis finds himself stepping into his role in the pack under Sam Uley's leadership. He's content with following the rules, as long as it means he can protect the ones he loves. But when Travis unexpectedly imprints on Billy Black—the respected elder of the Quileute tribe and his father's best friend—his world is thrown into disarray.
