[C H A P T E R T W E N T Y S I X - APOLOGISE] cw: sick | mention of trauma
SUKI AWOKE IN the middle of the night on Jun-hee's couch to the sound of Hana crying in the bedroom, Jun-hee's soft voice echoing through the walls as she comforted her. Jun-hee had returned from her date hours prior, which she was still yet to get details on.
She checked her phone, looking at the time. 1:30am. She groaned softly, scrolling through her notifications. The one notification that stood out the most was from In-ho. Her In-ho. She hated that they had their first argument. She hated that he wouldn't change for her.
But clicking on the notification has made her heart pound as she read each word over and over again.
✉️ From In-ho: Hello, my love. I owe you a big apology and an explanation when you're ready to hear it. I am finally free. I am no longer the frontman. I did this for you, for our baby and I hate that it took an argument for me to do so. I was such a fool, I should have listened to you. God, you deserve the world Suki. I'm prepared to give you that if you'll have me back. I love you so much.
He was no longer the frontman.
"Holy shit." She breathed, sitting up. She didn't think he would do it, but he had. He had left his job — for her, for their baby. Just then, a wave of nausea took over her as she ran to the bathroom, her entire stomach content lurching into the toilet.
"Suki, are you okay?" Jun-hee called from the hallway as she was sick again.
"Absolutely." She hummed as she thought about the text again. "Please give me a break, little one." She chuckled to herself, wiping her mouth as she was sure she was fine once more. She flushed the toilet, looking at her reflection in the mirror. Her hand falling to her stomach. "Maybe your dad isn't as much of an arse as I thought." She washed out her mouth with some mouthwash as she exited the bathroom.
Jun-hee was in the kitchen preparing Hana a bottle as Suki entered the room to grab herself a glass of water, giving Jun-hee a wave. "Are you sure you're okay? That sounded rough." Jun-hee handed Suki a glass from the cupboard as she turned on the tap.
"Yeah. I'm not sure if it was the baby giving me payback for the stress of earlier or if it was the fact In-ho text me while I was asleep." Suki chuckled nervously.
"He text you? What did he say?" But instead of saying anything she showed her the message. "Fucking hell, Suki." She gasped."I didn't think he had the guts...but you also never told me he was the frontman." She raised her eyebrow curiously.
