[C H A P T E R S E V E N T E E N - SOMEBODY ELSE] cw: verbal argument | recap on trauma
SUKI HAD NEVER felt more hurt, more betrayed than seeing the frontman without his mask. It was him. It was her Young-il. "Suki." He was standing in front of her now, his hand outstretched but she shrugged him away. She couldn't bear the thought that the man they had desperately tried to hunt down to put a stop to all of this was the same person she had fallen for.
"Don't touch me." Her voice was cold as he flinched back. She was angry, furious that she had fell for his lies. "Fucking hell, you have to be joking. Tell me this is not true. There's absolutely no way." Her tears flowed freely as he handed her a box of tissues from the coffee table. She took a few as he placed the box down next to her. "Young-il..." but he stopped her.
"Firstly, let me start by saying that's not my real name." He gave a nervous chuckle. But now wasn't the time for laugher as her face dropped. "I'm not Young-il."
But he didn't expect her words to turn from shock to anger. "You lied to me? You had the fucking audacity to lie to me?" She questioned, her shouts echoed through the room. "What's your real name?" She asked, calming herself down.
"My real name is Hwang In-ho." He stated plainly. Her heart sank. "Please call me In-ho." She ran her hands across her face as she flinched slightly, her hand catching her wound. In-ho. He wasn't Young-il.
"In-ho." His name flowed from her tongue so maliciously as he looked at her. She was unable to read his expression as she tried to think of what to say. "What else are you lying about?" She questioned. She could see him in deep thought, increasing her nerves.
"Nothing, Suki." He frowned. She could see a hint of truth in his words, but she felt betrayed, like a thousand hot knives had stabbed her in the heart at once.
"Bullshit." She shook her head. She was sure he didn't even like her.
But he shook his head. "I'm not proud of who I am Suki. I regret hiding this from you these past few days because the feelings I have for you are genuine." He reached for her hand, taking it in his own. She wanted to pull back. She wanted him to let go. But she couldn't. This was the feeling she craved. The man she wanted in her arms once more, the man she had trusted. Her heart couldn't let that go.
"Don't lie about your feelings." Her voice was barely audible as she choked on her sobs. "Don't do that to me."
"I'm not lying to you, Suki. I've tried my fucking hardest to protect you while falling in love knowing that as soon as you found out about this...about me, that opportunity would be gone." He pleaded with her, but she couldn't make eye contact with him anymore. Everything pained her. She looked at a spot on the wall in front of her, hoping she would wake up from this bad dream.
