YOUNG-IL'S POV
HE HAD NEVER been more relieved to have Suki back in his arms. She had opened up to him in ways he could have never imagined. And yet, he wanted to stay. She had listened to him confess just how he felt. It was a moment of vulnerability, a moment of true feelings. And yet he still felt guilty. Guilty for letting his mask show. The real Young-il.
From that moment, he knew she would never accept him for who he really was. The moment she found out, it would be over. He was sure she would leave him for good. And that broke him inside.
"Suki, angel. I need to go to the bathroom." She had fallen asleep on his chest as he played with her hair. He could see the effects the games were having on her. And he wanted her out of here as soon as possible. He needed to make sure she got through these games alive.
"Huh? Oh!" She realised where she was as her eyes opened, coming back round to reality. "Sorry, I was dreaming." She didn't move, but instead he placed a finger under her chin, moving her head to meet his gaze. She looked at him lovingly, his heart warm as he placed a feathered kiss to her forehead.
"I hope it was a good dream?" He asked. He wanted to wake up like this every day. He liked having her around. He needed her.
"A great dream actually." She chuckled, her cheeks glowing red. "But I cannot tell otherwise it won't come true." She winked at him, sending all kinds of thoughts into his brain. He liked this kind of feeling. He wanted it more often. Just her.
"I promise I won't be long. You have to tell me about it when I'm back." He gently moved away from her as he headed towards the bathroom.
Despite being a player, he had a job to do. And that job meant he had an unfair advantage compared to everyone. But now he was finding out this information for someone else too. It was his job to protect Suki. To make sure she got through every game unharmed, to make sure she stayed alive for him.
Approaching the bathroom, he saw the two masked guards at the door as normal. Their weapons lowered as he approached, bowing their heads. "You go check to see if anyone is in there." He pointed to the guard on the left. "And you make sure nobody comes in here. Give me your walkie talkie." He pointed to the other guard who handed him the device, before heading towards the main door, locking it shut. The first guard emerged seconds later, giving the all clear.
