Chapter 2 – Mikha’s POV
A Taste of the Forbidden
Aiah should’ve pulled away. She should’ve walked out of that room, left me alone with my reckless thoughts. Pero hindi. She stayed. She let the tension stretch between us, dangerously thin, dangerously fragile.
Miguel was still asleep beside her, his steady breathing filling the silence. It should’ve been a reminder—an alarm bell ringing in her head. Pero hindi niya ako tiningnan na parang kasalanan ako. Hindi siya umiwas.
At sa gabing ‘yon, hindi na rin ako umatras.
I shifted closer, slow and deliberate. “You feel it, don’t you?”
Her fingers twitched against the couch cushion. “Mikha—”
“Don’t lie,” I murmured.
Napakagat siya sa labi niya, her eyes flickering to Miguel for just a second. Pero kahit hindi siya sumagot, kita ko na ang sagot sa mga mata niya.
I lifted my hand, just a small movement, barely touching the fabric of her sleeve. I felt her shiver. It was so subtle, pero sapat na para malaman kong hindi niya ako kayang labanan nang buo.
For a moment, she let herself be still. As if waiting. As if testing herself.
I leaned in—just enough for her to feel my breath against her cheek.
And then—
A single movement. A silent choice.
She turned her head ever so slightly, closing the distance between us.
Soft. Delicate. A whisper of a kiss.
Walang pagmamadali, walang halong pangungulit—isang halik na walang dapat mangyari, pero nandiyan na, hindi na mababawi.
Her lips were warm, hesitant, testing the waters she knew she shouldn’t dive into. It was barely a second, barely a touch. But it was enough to set something in motion, something neither of us could take back.
She pulled away, breathing uneven, her hands clenched into fists. “Mikha, we can’t—”
I smirked, despite the tightness in my chest. “But we already did.”
The Aftermath
She left right after that, barely sparing me a glance. Pero alam kong hindi lang niya basta malilimutan ‘yon. Kita ko ‘yon sa kilos niya, sa paraan ng pagpigil niya ng paghinga habang mabilis na lumalabas ng bahay.
And the thing about first tastes? They always leave you craving for more.
I didn’t know how this would end. Pero isang bagay ang sigurado—this was just the beginning.
