Chapter 5 – Mikha’s POV
Aiah’s First Real Mistake
She kissed me back.
No hesitation. No resistance.
Aiah, who had always been so careful, so cautious, was now pressed against me—her fingers curling into the fabric of my jacket, her breath uneven, her body betraying everything she thought she believed in.
Kung talagang mali ito, bakit hindi niya ako tinutulak? Bakit hindi siya umaatras?
Bakit siya mismo ang humihila sa akin palapit?
Her lips were warm, hesitant but desperate at the same time. Every stolen second between us was a battle—her mind fighting, but her heart surrendering. And I? I welcomed it. I welcomed the way her walls started crumbling, the way she was slowly losing herself in something neither of us could explain.
Pero kahit gaano ko pa gustuhin ang sandaling ‘to, alam kong hindi ko siya dapat madaliin.
So I slowed down. My hands rested gently on her waist, just enough to feel her shiver under my touch. I let her set the pace. Let her decide.
And for a moment, she did.
She kissed me like she wanted to forget.
Like she wanted to escape.
Pero ang totoo? Wala naman siyang tinatakbuhan.
She was just finally giving in.
Then, suddenly—she pulled away.
The Guilt That Never Sleeps
She stumbled back, her breathing ragged, her eyes wide with something I couldn’t quite place—guilt, fear, regret? Or worse… desire?
Her fingers touched her lips, as if she couldn’t believe what she had just done. “This… this is wrong.”
I smirked, tilting my head. “Is it?”
Her hands curled into fists. “Mikha, I—I can’t do this.”
I took a step closer, challenging the distance she just put between us. “You already did.”
She shook her head. “No. No, this was a mistake.”
I should have been used to it by now—the way she always ran after crossing a line. But this time, something felt different.
This wasn’t just guilt.
This was fear.
Not of what we did, but of what it meant.
So instead of pushing her further, I leaned back, raising my hands in mock surrender. “Then walk away, Aiah.”
She hesitated, her body frozen in place.
“Kung talagang ayaw mo, bakit hindi mo kayang lumakad palabas ng kwartong ‘to?”
She sucked in a sharp breath, and for a second, I thought she’d stay.
But then—
She turned.
She walked away.
And for the first time, I wasn’t sure if she would come back.
