"I knew it!" she said, shaking me slightly. "What changed? What happened? Tell me everything."
"I don't know, okay? I just... realized."
She smirked. "So, what's the plan?"
I raised an eyebrow. "Plan?"
Minji crossed her arms. "You finally accept your feelings, and you don't have a plan? Amateur move."
I exhaled. "I'm just gonna—I don't know—stop ignoring him, I guess."
Minji tilted her head. "And?"
I hesitated. "And... maybe flirt back."
Minji grabbed my hands. "This is the best day of my life."
I found Jake standing by his locker, talking to Heeseung.
For once, I was the one who approached him.
"Hey, Jake," I said casually.
He looked up, and for a second, his eyes flickered with surprise—probably because I hadn't voluntarily spoken to him, ever.
Then, that familiar smirk curled at his lips. "Hey, princess."
I leaned against the locker next to his. "Did you sleep well?"
He blinked. "What?"
"Did. You. Sleep. Well?" I repeated slowly, tilting my head.
Heeseung snorted. "What is happening right now?"
Jake, on the other hand, was watching me carefully. "Why do you ask?"
I shrugged. "Just curious. You should get good sleep, you know. You need your energy for when I finally beat you at something."
Jake stared at me for a long moment, like he was trying to figure me out.
Then, slowly, he smirked.
"So this is how we're playing now?" he mused.
I batted my eyelashes at him. "Playing what?"
Jake chuckled, closing his locker. "Alright, Sooah. Let's see what you've got."
The rest of the day was... interesting.
For once, I was the one throwing little comments his way.
"You know, Sim, if you weren't so annoying, you'd actually be kind of cute."
"Are you staring at me? I know I'm pretty, but control yourself."
"If you wanted my attention, you could've just asked."
Each time, Jake responded with something equally infuriating—or worse, just looked at me like he was enjoying this way too much.
By lunch, Minji was practically vibrating with excitement.
"Okay, I am so invested in this," she whispered.
I rolled my eyes. "It's not a game."
Minji smirked. "Oh, but it is. And you both know it."
I sighed. "You are having too much fun with this."
"Obviously."

By the end of the day, I could tell Jake was getting impatient.
He leaned against my locker, watching me with an amused expression. "Okay, I have to ask—"
"Ask what?" I said innocently.
Jake narrowed his eyes. "What are you doing?"
I smiled sweetly. "Whatever do you mean, Jakey?"
His jaw clenched slightly. "Jakey?"
I leaned closer, lowering my voice. "What? You don't like it?"
Jake inhaled sharply.
I was playing with fire.
And I was enjoying it.
For so long, he had been the one getting under my skin.
But now?
It was his turn.
And judging by the way he was looking at me, like he was dangerously close to snapping—
I was winning.
But then, just as I was about to walk away, he grabbed my wrist, stopping me.
I looked up at him, pulse quickening.
Jake studied me for a moment, eyes searching mine.
Then, in one swift movement, he leaned down—his lips brushing my ear.
"Careful, princess," he murmured, voice low. "You're playing a dangerous game."
My breath hitched.
Jake pulled back, smirking.
Then, just like that, he walked away.
And I was left standing there—heart pounding, face burning, and—worst of all—realizing that maybe, just maybe...
I was in way over my head.
