As the first ray of sunlight gently filtered through the window, I slowly stirred from my deep sleep. The room was filled with soft golden glow, casting a warm and inviting light over the space. Stretching my arms above my head I let out the stiffness of sleeping slowly dissipate from my limbs.

The faint sound of birds chirping outside added to the tranquil atmosphere, creating a symphony of nature's melodies that filled the room.

I scolded my self for missing the fajr prayer as I sat up on the bed rubbing my eyes to get a clear view.

A movement beside me got my attention as my eyes landed on the figure sleeping next to me. When I realized it wasn't Shahil I got terrified. I abruptly stood on my legs grabbing my shawl and wrapping it around my head.

It was him in his deep slumber. All the memories came to my sense, that now he is my husband. My heart sank thinking about all the events took place in these few days. But how he ended up here, as long as I can remember I was talking with Zahra last night.

He suddenly stirred a little which made to take a step backward. Without making any noice I took my clothes from the cupboard and headed to mom's room.

The thought of he was sleeping beside the whole night sent a goosebumps all over my body. I felt relief when Zahra told that he has left to somewhere for an important reason. Zahra was with me in my room accompanying me after helping me to change my clothes.

Dad took Shahil to his room as he was already sleepy. Mom and Aunty Jasmin were talking in the hall. I felt exhausted after this tiring day. It was past 8 and still he didn't return which made Zahra very sad but not me. I can breathe in relax in his absence. His presence makes me uncomfortable and uneasy. His scanning amber eyes draining all the energy out of my system and making my legs go weak.

After changing in to a new set of clothes I went searching my mom who was in the kitchen making coffee.

"Beti, you are awake? I thought you are still sleeping. Did Arsh wake up?" She asked as he handed over me the coffee cup.

"Not yet mom, he is still sleeping". I said sipping the coffee.

"I think you should wake him up. It already 9. Jasmin told me that beauticians will be here by 10 to make you ready. Wake him up and give this coffee to him". She said placing the coffee tray on my hand.

"I can't mom. You go and wake up him. Please...!!". I said placing the tray on the nearby table.

"Are you out of your mind? How can I wake up him Shafiyya. You should do that. Go and give the coffee otherwise you will be late for the waleema ceremony". Forcing the tray on my hand she pushed me out of the kitchen.

I stood near my room, coffee tray on my hand. I don't want to face him but here I am placing my hand on the door knob.

I opened the door reluctantly peeked inside. I found him sitting on the back and scrolling his mobile. His head turned to my direction hearing the door opening sound. I stayed rooted to the ground unknowing whether to go inside or not.
I lowered my head down to the coffee cup on the tray sensing his gaze on me.

"How long are you planning to stand there? Come inside" he said till sitting on the bed.

With a hesitation I went inside and forwarded the tray before him standing a few feet away and I didn't dare to look at him.

"What is it?" He asked as locking his mobile and placing beside him. Now his whole focus is on me.

"Coffee". I somehow found the words but it came out as a whisper.

Hearing me he stood up on his leg like hovering over me. He was wearing a black t shirt and a sweatpants. He folded his hands over his chest like observing me. He was much taller than me that I felt like very small beside him.

"I didn't hear" he said.

"Co.. coffee for you" I managed to say it little louder this time. Hearing me didn't grab the coffee instead he placed his index finger under my chin and lifted my face gently to make me face him.
I felt an electrifying jolt ran through my spine feeling his sudden touch.

"Eyes on me when you are talking" he said again folding his hands. I looked up at his face meeting his honey eyes which were on me just for a couple seconds and averted my eyes as I couldn't stand the intensity in his look. I looked everywhere but not at him.

"You look like a lost puppy" he said taking his coffee. "Zahra will be here in 30 minutes with the beautician. I will be leaving now and will come at 12.30 sharp. Get ready". He said and started sipping his coffee.

I hummed in response and turned to leave but he grabbed my arm making me to face him again. I startled in his sudden action  feeling anxious.

"Where is the ring" he asked sternly his hold on my arm tightened a little.

"I.... The rin......l" I stuttered out of fear. The intensity in his tone says how serious he was.

He held me almost squeezing my arm making me frown in pain and yanked me towards him that I collapsed on his chest.

"I ask you one more time, where is the ring Shafiyya" he roared near my face and the tray in my hand fell down.

"I.. forgot in the bathroom" I said trying to release my arm out of his iron grip.

"Get that immediately. Go" leaving my arm he said harshly and I ran to the bathroom and came back to him with the ring in my hand.

"Wear it" he said which made me slip the ring right away on my finger.

"Forget that one more time and I will not be responsible for what happens next" saying this he left there grabbing his mobile and car keys.

I stood there like a statue for few minutes. Why he have to behave so harshly. I just unintentionally forgot it it's not like I purposely did it to infuriate him. His harsh words and behavior made me feel deeply upset. I felt a sense of shock and disbelief, specifically it was unexpected to behave him like this with me when its wasn't even a mistake.

I heard Zahra calling me, placing a smile on my lips I welcomed her and the beautician. I told them sit on the sofa as I grabbed the tray from the ground went to kitchen bring them something to have.
