Fears and Tears
Someone acting suspicious might exhibit several telltale signs. Suspicious people often may appear overly nervous or anxious, frequently looking around as if checking to see if they're being watched. Their movements might be erratic or overly cautious, and they may try to avoid eye contact. They could be loitering in an area without a clear purpose, often changing their position or direction. Which was exactly how every host club member minus me and Haruhi was acting.
"They are up to something right? It's not just my imagination." Haruhi asked as we watched over the twins peeking around in our shadows at us. "No you are right, they are definitely up to something and I believe it involves us." I'm not sure but something about their actions just told me to stay away almost like the time Renge decided to film that movie. "Involves us? How?" Haruhi asked curious about the situation at play. My own curiosity began to get the best of me, as I searched for answers. And then, the answer just showed up. "I'm not exactly sure, but I'm about to go find out." I told the girl as I began to walk towards the one person who sees and knows all about what is going on between every host member. Kyoya Ootori.
The boy was much in his natural place enjoying peace but finding irritation in a minute or two. The shifting winds blew the surface of his book ever so slightly flipping a page in the process. This reaction took all his attention until I forced my way to steal it. My steps gradually grew closer before I made my placement beside him on a lonely beach chair. With even the slightest noise, Kyoya took notice. Before long, his eyes seemed glued to me scanning for a hint of intention to crawl from my being.
"Whatcha doing Kyo?" I asked the boy innocently. The boy looked up for a split second as his scowl from before blossomed into a small smile. "Planning" the boy said before taking my right hand into his. "Planning what? Something that involves me and Haruhi?" I asked the boy hoping to get answers by catching him off guard. Which is exactly what happened. "That's exact- nope not at all." Kyoya quickly recovered from almost letting out the plan. Clearly I had to tempt the boy into giving up more information.
"If you tell me, I might tell you a secret." I tried to persuade the boy, in all honesty I had no secret to tell. But it seemed to peek at the boy's attention. "What kind of secret?" Kyoya asked suspiciously. Within that moment I completely panicked and just said the first thing that came to mind. "I may know of someone who likes you." I told the boy before his smile dropped a bit. "That's not worth it, plus I already like someone." Kyoya told me, I wasn't sure why but within this moment it felt as if my heart had been shattered into a million pieces. A little part of me hoped it was me but something else told me I was getting too big headed. I gently distanced myself a bit further from him and slowly let go of his hand. I knew I could never live up to the Ootori's standards so why should I delude myself into thinking so. Due to my self-doubt, sadness overtook my senses but I dare not cry. I was many things but weak was not one of them. I decided to go on another walk away from the situation but this time alone.
A little later on in the day, I was stopped by the twins. However, I couldn't quite get a grasp of what they were saying before being swept away. We arrived upon our location of what seemed to be a locally visited cave. A cave is a fascinating natural formation that often evokes a sense of mystery and adventure. Upon entering, I took notice of the temperature drop, providing a cool respite from the outside world. The walls of the cave were rugged and uneven, adorned with stalactites hanging from the ceiling and stalagmites rising from the ground, formed over thousands of years by mineral deposits. The air inside was much rather damp and carries a distinct earthy smell. As we venture deeper, the light from the entrance fades, and the cave becomes enveloped in darkness, requiring a flashlight to navigate. The sound of dripping water echoes throughout, creating a rhythmic and almost hypnotic ambiance. The cave's floor to my surprise was not slippery and uneven, as I would have thought to require careful footing. Exploring a cave reveals a hidden world of geological wonders and ancient formations, each corner offering a new discovery. That's somewhat of what the twins wanted to show.
