Finally court day is here... I'm so nervous.
I have to win Rose... I have to. Luke can't get her!! He can't.
Luckily I've had Ashton. He's been super supportive and maybe we've had a kiss or two but... Well i don't know.
"Eliza, are you ready?" Ashton smiles.
I turn back to him and smile.
I straighten out my skirt and glare at myself.
Okay, now to do my hair.
"Almost" I reply.
I curl my hair and pin it back before Ashton's arms snake around my waist.
"You're so beautiful" he mumbles.
I smile slightly and turn to face him.
I wrap my arms around his neck and smile up at him.
"Thank you. I love you" I whisper.
"I love you too" he smiles.
We walk out to the car and drive to the court.
I'm so scared. Oh my god.
As I get out the car, I see my lawyer. I walk over to her and smile.
"Today will go smoothly. I promise." Kelani smiles.
"You think we'll win?" I ask her.
"I've got a good feeling." She smiles.
I grin and nod.
I turn to see Luke walking with his lawyer, he looks anxious.
He still looks pretty hot in his suit. Damn.
He walks into the court before my lawyer escorts me in.
Eventually we are called in and to stand.
"Would the defendant, Ms Hemmings rise?" He asks.
I stand in the box and stare luke in eyes.
He nods at me slightly but I return with a dirty look.
"Why do you believe you would be a better parent than Mr Hemmings?" Luke's lawyer asks.
I begin to panic and stare at Kelani.
"I gave birth to her... We have a connection" I eventually spit out.
"What does giving birth have to do with this case? Mr Hemmings is her father!" His lawyer shouts.
"OBJECTION YOUR HONOUR!" My lawyer shouts.
"Denied" the judge grunts.
She sits down and gives him a dirty look.
"I-I know things he's done in the past." I stutter.
My lawyer nods at me before grabbing a TV.
"Evidence allowed?" She asks the judge.
"Allowed." He replies.
Luke buries his head in his hands before shaking his head at me.
An image of a smashed up car appears on the screen and my lawyer smirks slightly.
"This image shows a car that was smashed by Mr Hemmings in an angry rampage." My lawyer explains.
"OBJECTION YOUR HONOUR!!" Luke's lawyer screams.
"How is this relevant your honour?" Luke's lawyer interjects.
"Objection denied. Continue" the judge says.
Kelani nods.
"So, Mr Hemmings how do you explain this?" The judge asks.
Luke clears his throat.
"I-I was drunk and mad with Eliza." Luke says truthfully.
"So you smashed a car?" The judge asks.
Kelani smirks.
"We had an argument and she cheated on me with my best friend." Luke says.
"And that excuses your behaviour?" The judge asks.
Luke shakes his head.
"Your honour-" Luke's lawyer begins but the judge smacks his hammer.
"No more evidence needed. I grant Eliza custody of the child." The judge declares.
I feel as if someone has hit me in the face with a hammer. What the fuck? I have Rose!! What?! Oh my god.
I look over to see Luke crying and raging.
Luke...
I run out of the court after him.
I see him with his head on his hands on the stairs.
"Luke, I'm sorry. I didn't realise Kelani would use that..." I mutter, hiding the sheer joy in my voice.
"It doesn't make it right Eliza." Luke bitterly says.
He looks up at me and wipes his eyes.
My heart aches and I sit beside him.
"I'm sorry Luke. Why did we end up like this? We used to be so... Happy." I say, tearing up at the happy memories.
"If you hadn't fucked Calum, maybe we wouldn't be here. Maybe." He says before leaving.
