Giggles and laughter were heard from the eleven year old girl as she ran past the Lords and Ladies in the Red Keep.
Aemond held her hand tightly as they tried escaping the Septa, she was just a old boring woman and the two planned a childish escape.
"Aemond, slow down!" Elinor yelled but Aemond ignored her and continued to run.
Leaving the castle and running into the garden, the two ran behind two bushes of flowers hiding from the Septa.
The two sat down and placed their hands over their mouth, trying to muffle out their giggles, removing her hand, Elinor whispered.
"Is she gone?" Aemond turned and looked beyond the bushes, "She's gone" Aemond whispered back and both rest back.
The two looked at each other and erupted into a fit of laughter, yet their joyous moment hadn't lasted long.
Ser Criston was sent by the queen to retrieve her son for his dragon lesson and Larys was angered by his daughter resulting in Criston needing to relieve both, Elinor and Aemond.
Hearing the giggles, Criston sneaked up to the bushes, splitting them in too, "Prince Aemond and Lady Elinor."
Both children turned to Criston with shocked faces and then tried to run off, but Criston was faster and caught the two.
Aemond by his green sleeve and Elinor by her waist, her dark blue dress tightening over her stomach.
"The Queen has been looking for you Aemond, and Lady Elinor, your father has been searching the entire Keep for you."
Elinor tried not to keep eye contact with Criston, her eyes on the ground, she knew her father had a temper and had a violent nature towards her.
He would often hit her, starve her or lock her away if she ever did something wrong, she feared what he would do know.
She sighed and followed Ser Criston into the castle, Aemond holding her hand tightly, knowing she was to get a scolding, he never knew of the worst parts.
Elinor gave Aemond a smile and walked beside him. As they reached her father's chambers, her smile dropped and her hand left Aemond's.
"Elinor" Aemond whispered to her but she just gave him a quick smile and entered the chamber.
It was dark, the curtains remained shut, his bed was made and the table had a plate of food on it, "Father."
Her hands were laced together infront of her but she couldnt hide her messy hair, "Elinor."
Larys's voice was thick and full of anger, he sat by the table, eyeing his daughter, "You ran from your septa."
Elinor looked down, "I'm sorry father but-" Larys cut her short, "Why?"
"Father, Aemond gave the idea, I just followed."
"Did he force you? Did he take you against your will?"
Elinor shook her head, "No father" her voice was lower than a whisper, "I cannot hear you child. What did I say about your mumbling?"
"No, father. Aemond did not force me" Elinor said a bit louder and Larys nodded his head, "So why did you go?" Elinor didn't reply
He took his cane and walked towards her, Elinor took a step back, her eyes looked up at him, sadness filled them, she knew what was to happen next.
His hand collided with her cheek, it instantly stinging, tears prickled her eyes as her hand went to her cheek.
"Speak" Larys spat at his daughter, "I don't know. I'm sorry" Elinor cried out, Larys didn't like that response.
His hand collided with her other cheek, the sound echoing through the chamber.
"You will remain in this chamber for the rest of the day. Do you understand me?"
Tears ran down both her stinging and red cheeks as she nodded her head. Larys huffed and gripped her hair, making her look at him.
"Do you, understand me?" He repeated once again, this time more viscously, "Yes" Elinor sobbed out.
Larys rolled his eyes to her ridiculous crying, threw her onto the floor and left the room, leaving her to cry.
Elinor brought her knees to her chest and hugged them tightly as she sobbed silently.
This was her life since the day she turned five, when she broke her father's old, cracked cane. She didn't mean to.
He made her starve that day, she couldn't forget it.
