"GRIMES. GET UP."

Harpie Dubois shook Ashton Grimes, trying to get some sort of response. And despite everything, she heard nothing.
No Breathing.
No Heartbeat.
Just Nothing.

"Wow. I expected him to have more fight than that."
Harpie gently laid Ashton's body back on the ground and turned around to face Omni, who held the unconscious body of Eric Armani.
"Same with this one. From my previous battles, these two were always the problem children. Well...these two and the big sister of the big three."

Omni tossed Eric aside.
"I must admit Ms. Dubois...you fascinate me the most."

"Oh come on Harpie. Humor me with some sort of retort. Or are you really that distraught about the death of a worthless, insignificant ant?"
Omni stepped over the fallen body of Jessica Grimes.
"You realize just how easy it is to bring them all back, right? Contrary to what may be thought, I am a merciful and diplomatic being."
"This is what you call mercy?"
"The consequences of war Ms. Dubois. Surely you understand, after all, you helped lead the charge in a war against a goddess."
"I won that war."
"Then you know the occasional sacrifices that have to be made. I lost my entire species because I couldn't finish this war. I lost EVERYTHING because I couldn't finish the war fast enough."
Omni stared daggers at Harpie.
"And you won't finish this one. But unlike me, you have a choice."

Harpie attempted to slash at Omni with the Balancesephy blade, only for them to dodge it.
"I don't care for false promises. I've heard too many."
Omni smiled.
Die A Fool's Death.

Ashton felt dizzy as he sat up. He looked around himself as he stood in an empty void.
"Goddamn...my head..."
"Mr. Grimes."
Ashton looked around as he heard Omni's voice.
"Where are you?"
"Where am I? Why I Am EVERYWHERE."

Ashton's ears began ringing as his head began to feel like it was going to explode.
"You know, I've grown tiresome of you. For 4 straight LIFETIMES, you have somehow, whether intentionally or not, RUINED EVERYTHING."

He felt the Omnipoison begin to kill him from the inside.
"IT WAS YOU AND THAT FOX. YOU TWO HAVE RUINED EVERYTHING. BUT NOW...NOW I'VE GOT YOU. AND NOW YOU CAN ENJOY A FRONT ROW SEAT TO THE MAIN EVENT BEFORE YOU DIE FOR THE FINAL TIME."

Ashton then saw what was happening in reality.
"Look at poor Harpie Dubois. She's mourning over the loss of her best friend and is now trying to protect them. Oh boohoo. It's adorable. I've got her wrapped around my finger, falling for everything hook, line, and sinker."
"Harpie..."
"Goodbye Ashton Grimes. Enjoy watching Harpie's final hour."
"HARPIE."

Ashton tried to move but the poison had spread throughout his entire body, paralyzing The Runaway where he laid.
"HARPIE. DON'T FALL FOR IT."

Harpie began swinging at Omni, trying to land a hit, only for Omni to avoid everything.
"HARPIE. LISTEN TO ME DAMN IT. HEAR ME. COME ON."
His shouting was doing nothing.

"It is over Ashton."
He heard the kitsune spirit speaking to him.

"You fought her before..."
"Yes."
"You knew..."
"I only kne-"
"YOU KNEW. YOU FUCKING KNEW. YOU FACED HER BEFORE. YOU KNEW I FACED HER BEFORE. YOU KNEW I-"
"IT WOULD HAVE CHANGED NOTHING. SHE STILL ARRIVES JUST LIKE THIS. ALL IT WOULD HAVE DONE IS CREATE PANIC AND FEAR FOR YOU. IT WOULD RUIN THE PEACE YOU FINALLY ACHIEVED. THAT'S THE ONE THING I ENVY ABOUT YOU ASHTON. YOU WERE AT PEACE."

"It's over now. Omni came more prepared than ever before this time. She knows everything we're going to do and I don't know anything from my past knowledge that could help."
"So give me that knowledge. I can use it and stall her until Raven has the opening..."

Ashton began pushing himself to his feet as he saw Harpie fighting with everything she could. And despite everything, nothing was going to be enough.
"Ashton. Giving you all of that would likely kill you."
"Likely. Not guaranteed. I prefer those odds."
He walked over to where he saw reality and just began trying to punch through.

"Come on..."
He kept trying.
"Kit. Please."
"Grimes, if I do this, more bad can come from this than good. You will never be the same man again. Your mind will have the knowledge of 8 complete timelines. You'll see and know everything."
"Kit. Just do it..."
and then he saw it. he saw harpie get stabbed through the chest with the balancesephy blade.

he watched her body collapse as she fell to the ground.

"HARPIE!"
his own yell echoed but wouldn't break this reality. he just punched at the barrier that kept his consciousness in the void.
"KIT. PLEASE. THIS IS THE LAST CHANCE."

he kept fighting and fighting despite his body giving out.
"Grimes..."
"JUST DO IT. I DON'T CARE WHAT HAPPENS TO ME. BUT I NEED TO DO THIS...PLEASE."
