Time Crunch

Ashton Grimes watched as the light faded and all that remained was Raven. She was still unconscious as he rushed over and checked her pulse.
"She's back."
Ashton looked up at Mercedes and Harpie before looking back at Raven.

"Mercedes."
"Yes?"
"Keep an eye on Raven. Harpie, let's go."
"Where are you guys going?"
"Buying you time."
"What do you mean?!"
"Raven's taking a Power Nap. When she wakes up, Omni is fucked and they know that. Jessica's not going to hold on for much longer since Tanya's dead. Harpie and I are pretty much the last line of defense for you. Because if Omni gets past us before Raven wakes up...it's over."

Mercedes nodded as Ashton and Harpie prepared to sprint to the castle when they heard a near emotionless voice.
"Wait for me."
Eric Armani simply walked past the two, without a care in the world."Well hurry up. You said it first. We're running out of time. Oh. Also, here's an early Christmas present for you Grimes."Eric tossed a syringe filled with Slyvenian Blood to Ashton who caught it.

"I-"
"If you want to survive long enough to stop Omni, you'll need that."

Eric continued his march towards the castle while Harpie and Ashton began to run towards it.

"It's funny."
"What is?"
"I still remember when you were just a kid."
"I still remember when you weren't in your 90's."
Harpie chuckled.
"Prick."
"Old hag."

Ashton stopped running for a moment.
"Harpie."
"Yes?"
"If we don't come back-"
"We will."
"But if we don't...well. More if I don't."
"You will.""But if-"
"You will come back."

Ashton just hugged Harpie.
"Thank You. For everything that you've done for me."
Harpie was silent for a moment before she hugged him back.
"Thank you for coming into my life and letting me see its beauty."

"Oi. Stop with the sappy shit. We've got a job to do."
Eric broke up the happy moment before continuing his walk. Ashton and Harpie then stared at the castle. Harpie walked forward while Ashton looked at his hand where the Slyvenian blood was.

Harpie misunderstood what he meant by if he doesn't come back.
