Chapter 30

SUNRISE could only take a deep breath and bitterly smiled as she watched Prius back. Palabas ito ng restaurant dahil may pupuntahang trabaho.

It's been four days since Prius talked to that friend of his who visited his restaurant, and since then, Prius has become quite busy.

Sa apat na araw na lumipas ay ihahatid lang siya nito sa restaurant at agad na aalis. Sa hapon naman ay mag-isa siyang umuuwi dahil ginagabi ito lagi. Napansin niya rin na madalas ay tahimik ito at mukhang malalim ang iniisip.

Pagtinatanong niya naman ito ay ayos lang ako ang laging tugon nito. Hindi rin ito nakikipagtalik sa kanya. Siguro dahil sa pagod at stress. Nakakamatay daw iyon ng sex drive base sa isang article na nabasa niya.

Blowing a tired sigh, Surise went back to work and after her shift, she decided to wander by the beach to get her mind off from overthinking about Prius. Pero hindi niya rin magawa dahil ang binata parin ang laman ng isipan niya sa kabila ng nakakamanghang tanawin.

She was alone and quiet in deep thought about Prius when somebody walked beside her halting her steps.

Tinignan niya ang lalaki at agad siyang natuwa nang makilala ito.

"It's you," she said and smiled. "It's been a while."

Ngumiti ito na lalong kinasingkit ng mga singkit nitong mata. "I was busy and haven't had the liberty to stroll around and take a pause."

Sunrise hummed in understanding and resumed walking slowly. "Hiru, right?" she asked.

"Yep! But you can call me kuya Midday," he winked, walking beside her with hands inside his pocket.

"Bakit naman?" Kunot noo na tinignan niya ito.

Hiru shrugged. "I like the name. It's a synonym of my name Hiru."

"Ahh..." Tumanga-tango siya. "I still prefer kuya Hiru." She showed a toothy grin.

Bumagsak ang balikat nito at bahagyang ngumuso. "Thought you'd agree with kuya Midday," he mumbled.

Natawa siya. "Ano pala ginagawa mo dito?" Usisa niya.

"Nothin'. Just lookin' around to breathe fresh air. The week has been darn hectic," anitong nakaangat ang isang gilid ng labi. "How 'bout you?"

Bahagyang kumibot ang labi niya nang maisip niya si Prius. It was sad. "Normal," she said instead of what was running inside her head.

"What's normal to you?"

"I wake up in the morning and go to work after dropping my beloved cat to her keeper."

"Borin'," anitong natawa. "How 'bout you and Prius? Nothin' goin' on with the two of you? I heard somethin' 'bout the two of you."

"Ano?"

"That you two live under the same roof. Those eew stuff." Nakaangat ang isang gilid ng labi na turan nito pero kagyat ding natawa.

Nagpigil siyang mangiti dahil sa birong naisip. "Oo. Ang easy to get kasi ni Prius kaya ibinahay ko na," wika na kapagkuwan ay malakas na tawa nang biglang nagsalubong ang kilay nito. "We do the eew stuff."

"Hahaha, funny," Hiru deadpan afterward and let out a tss.

Sunrise giggles then tries to be serious. "Kidding aside, si Prius ba nakikita o nakakausap mo?"

"Haven't heard from him for a while now. I don't wanna hear a darn thin' either. Why?"

Sunrise twitched her shoulder nonchalantly. "Nothing. Natanong ko lang kasi sobrang busy niya lately baka kako may alam ka sa pinagkakaabalahan niya."
