Huang Zhishu actually knew that Elder Chongshan had some feelings for their family.
After all, for the past few years, she and her children have always accompanied Elder Manoban in the old mansion.

Jennie recalled the events he had brought up. They had ended without any proper conclusions.
Based on the Manoban family's intelligence, it was impossible for them not to look further into this matter.
She had suspected that Elder Manoban was intentionally suppressing these matters and did not make a fuss about it.

The only thing that surprised her was that Butler Mingde actually hadn't been hypnotised.
Jennie calmly took in Somi's pale complexion. "Back when the newspapers wrote articles about how I purchased haunted apartments to ruin the Manoban family's luck, though you did not personally instruct the companies to do so and chose to send someone in your stead, that person still gave you away. At the time, Elder Manoban had begged me to not give you any trouble for it."
She sighed. "Somi, you always seem to think that the Manoban family's elders don't have any fondness for you. But for all the schemes you've executed, Elder Manoban repeatedly requested for me to give you more opportunities. You're a member of the Manoban family and he could never bear to punish you. He did not want you to die. Even Lisa's parents knew about this but they never interfered. This means that they gave you some face. The Manoban family's elders may appear cold on the outside but they are all warm-hearted and do have warm feelings for you."
She paused for a moment before continuing. "Otherwise, how could you possibly receive so much pocket money from the Manoban family every month? You received new clothes and cosmetics every season, and even got new cars every three to five years. The Manoban family has never mistreated you."
Her gaze shifted onto Huang Zhishu and Kai. "They have never mistreated the two of you either."
"But I don't want those!" Somi did not seem to feel the slightest guilt. "If they truly cared for me, they should have stopped Lisa and you from marrying! They should have made Lisa marry me!"
"No one can make decisions for me when it comes to my marriage." At this point, Lisa's words were also a silent admission of the Manoban family's elders' feelings for Somi.
After all, they had raised her for over twenty years. Even spending too much time with a cat or a dog would cause feelings to grow, much less a human.
He did not like Somi. Still, he would not stop the Manoban family's elders from treating her well.
