"Those are all rumours." Jennie responded calmly. "Grandfather, think about it. Your grandson, Lisa, is so outstanding. Even if I was blind, I would still be able to tell that a sesame seed like Kai is in no way any competition for a diamond. Put it simply, logically speaking, it's impossible for me to like Kai."

"Is Lisa really in your heart?" Chongshan struggled to put his worries to rest. "I only have one grandson. If you hurt his feelings..."

"Grandfather, he really occupies the space in my heart." Jennie's expression was sincere. "He occupies all of it."

This was Lisa's first time sneaking behind a door to listen to their conversation. When he heard this fiancée's serious confession, his frozen heart was instantly filled with joy and sweetness.

He had followed after them because he was worried about Jennie. Thankfully, he had decided to do so.

Otherwise, wouldn't he have missed out on hearing her feelings?

Chongshan stroked his white moustache in satisfaction. "Truthfully speaking, in the past, both Lisa's parents and I did not approve of this marriage. However, as you were a granddaughter-in-law selected by my late wife, as well as the only request Lisa has ever made of us, we decided to let things be. Lisa absolutely detests betrayal. We initially thought that, considering the rumours between you and Kai, it would be unlikely for your relationship to come to fruition. To think you would both be able to make it this far. Grandfather has seen the performance where you sang <You're My Greatest Love> for Lisa. I also heard your confession for him. I was also deeply moved by you."

He suddenly winked at her mischievously. "You sang too well. I'll tell you this secretly: I'm actually your fan. It's a pity that you're not a singer."

"Haha, in that case, I'll sing for Grandfather every so often." She winked back at him with the same mischievous attitude. Lisa was sufficiently eye-catching. She was not interested in the entertainment circle. With Lisa's influence and her own appearance and figure, it was a simple feat for her to become famous.

However, she did not enjoy being pursued by cameras every single day. She would rather let other people live out their super star dreams. She preferred to remain an audience and to simply watch them.

"Hahaha!" Chongshan laughed in relief.

He approached her and patted her on her shoulders. "I'm an old man. Although much of my life has passed by, I believe that I still have a good eye for people. If you become Lisa's wife, I'll have nothing to worry about."

"I won't let you down," she promised him sincerely.

Truly, in this life, she would do her utmost to love the husband who had sacrificed his own life for her.

The two of the chatted casually for a while longer. Chongshan told her to spend some time living in the old mansion and she agreed to his request. He then pointed at the door. "Go on. Lisa should be rather impatient by now."

Jennie bowed to him lightly and turned to leave. The moment she opened the study room's door, she was wrapped tightly in Lisa's embrace.

"Jennie, I love you so much!" His cold, heavy voice was filled with his love for her.

She pushed him away shyly. "Grandfather is still here."

He was looking in their direction.

"It's fine, it's fine..." When Chongshan smiled, the wrinkles in the corner of his eyes deepened. He waved his hand without being upset. "There's no need to mind me. I know what it's like to be young."

Lisa and Jennie walked down the stairs together and stepped out of the living room. They strolled slowly through the beautiful, Chinese-style garden.

It was 3:00 in the afternoon.

It was a beautiful day. The sky was clear and blue.

A gentle breeze brushed past them. The wind was comfortable.

Jennie paused by the cobblestone path and turned to look at Lisa. She murmured softly. "You didn't even propose to me before you announced our marriage."
