Somi also wished she could act spoiled in front of Chongshan. She wasn't sure why, but despite having lived in the Manoban family with her mother and elder brother for more than two years, this damned old man was not the slightest bit close to them.
Was it really because they did not share the Manoban family's bloodline?
After their meal, Somi immediately attacked Jennie. "Grandfather, did you know? Miss Kim spent eight hundred thousand dollars to purchase a haunted apartment located in Mian Lan North District. Quite a lot of people have died in that apartment..."
She then explained the history of the apartment before saying, "I never expected Miss Kim to use the red packets she had received from the elders to purchase a haunted apartment."
Chongshan raised his eyebrows at her words. He turned towards Jennie. "Little girl, you really bought a haunted apartment?"
Jennie was rather moved by the way Grandfather affectionately addressed her as 'Little girl'. "En."
Chongshan appeared unmoved by this knowledge. Somi did not expect him to be indifferent. Still, she stubbornly continued. "The red packets and a bloody apartment are both red. I wonder if the two conflicting reds will bring about misfortune. Is Jennie trying to ruin the Manoban family's luck?"
"What nonsense are you spouting!" Chongshan raised his voice sternly. "Jennie isn't someone like that."
Jennie raised her brows. "Somi, did you go insane just because you failed to perform better than me and couldn't enter the Sheng Shi Group? You sure dare to run your mouth as you please. I am Madam Manoban. The better the Manoban family's luck, the better my life will be. How could I possibly ruin the Manoban family's luck?"
"Are you really Madam Manoban? You haven't even stepped into the family yet you dare to apply gold to your own face..." Somi wanted to continue.
Chongshan cut her off. "Apologise to your cousin-in-law right now! Otherwise, you can scram out of the Manoban family immediately."
"But..." Somi's eyes reddened as spoke in grievance. "I wouldn't have spoken this honestly if it wasn't for the Manoban family's good. You..."
"Apologise!" Elder Chongshan's wrinkled face was especially stern.
"Miss Kim, I'm sorry..." Somi was clearly unwilling.
Elder Manoban was a rather superstitious man. Somi knew that Lisa would definitely stand on Jennie's side. Thus, she intentionally took the opportunity while he was away to say these words so as to create a rift between Elder Manoban and Jennie.
Who would have thought that she only ended up throwing her own face away.
Jennie had bought a total of ten, cheap apartments from Mian Lan North District today. After travelling back and forth, she was exhausted. She could not be bothered to respond to Somi and headed back to her room to rest.
Elder Manoban also went to his study.
Somi and her family usually only visited the Manoban family's main mansion building for meals. They lived in a smaller building named, 'Jing Xin Residence', right behind the main building.
The three of them returned to Jing Xin Residence.
The moment Somi stepped into the living room, she cursed in a low voice. "The old things in the Manoban family are all biased ghosts. He actually didn't care if the Manoban family's luck would be affected!"
"I think it isn't that Elder Manoban doesn't care about it. It's just that nothing bad has happened to the Manoban family yet for him to take this matter seriously." Kai smiled viciously. "You say, if something does happen to the Manoban family, won't Jennie be in for a serious treat?"
"Brother, I was thinking the exact same thing." Somi smiled darkly.
Kai sat down on the couch and rubbed his chin. "I was just wondering why my normally capable sister put on such a show today. It turns out that you were setting the stage for your future schemes. Don't ruin Jennie, though. Just put some distance between her and the Manoban family's old people. Have you forgotten that she is my prey?"
"If only you were as capable as your sister." Huang Zhishu poured herself a cup of tea and criticised. "Jennie used to like you a lot. She was already yours at the time."
