Amelia's POV:-

Even though most people want to be truthful, some may come off as false, untrue, or portraying an image that differs from their true selves when they are around others or at home.

Here in front of me is one of them. Mother.

To take me home, she is here.

Isn't it amazing?

Despite the fact that I know she's here for her reputation, not for me.

her allegedly created personality.

Something she's conjured up for the world.

illusion of a really devoted and kind mother.

Even funnier is the fact that many actually do believe her.

Like Chris and Daniel right now.

only if they are able to see reality.

As I saw her approaching, I was taken aback.

For being unable to arrive earlier, she expressed her apologies.

Not to me, though.

She said this to Chris and Daniel, who are currently speaking with her.

I sigh.

This is truly wearing me out.

We part ways once we've finished all the discharge papers.

Before I left the hospital, Daniel and Chris made sure I was truly ready to return home.

While I appreciate it, I can't stand to be here any longer.

The boys left after I got settled in the car with my mother in the backseat.

The car is silent, which is awkward. The beat of our hearts is the only sound audible.

It was a good thing that no one said anything.

I can no longer bear the agony in my head.

My mother hurried back to her office after dropping me off at home. She appears to be quite occupied.

That does not, however, excuse her from being in the hospital when her kid needed her.

When I walk into the house, I feel nothing.

There is no sense of comfort you get after a hard day when you arrive home fatigued.

It's chilly and dark here.

There aren't any conditions for living beings here.

I stroll to my room with a sliver of sunshine flowing in through the windows without turning on the lights.

My body's actions just make a little ache in my head.

I slipped into my pajamas and lay down on the bed.

Four days have passed since the incident.

I get a text from Daniel as soon as I open my phone.

Daniel: you've reached home?

Me: Oh yes. Just laid down.

Also, Chris texted me. It is a meme, not text.

Is this boy for real?

He may be a little too much at times, but he's really valuable.

A few weeks ago, I would have laughed hysterically if you had told me that I would be surrounded by the most powerful boys at school.
