Unexpected Hero

Chapter 12

"Ugh" Blue started to open her eyes, her surroundings seemed dark and cold but she felt like someone was with her.
"Hello!!!" She said
"Up and about I see" the voice was like a thousand voices in one
"Whose there!!!" She yelled again but it was too dark to see
"My dear if you scream, your life is too precious to end quickly"
"Who are you???" Blue asked
"The person who will take the life of someone you care about"
"What have I done? Why are you doing this??" Blue asked
"Don't worry I won't hurt you till it's time"

"What do want Snake?" Yong asked seeing him, Ren never trusted Snake but what was he doing here
"I come in peace to see the new Protectorssss" Snake said holding his hands up
"Who is he?" Jason asked them
"I'm Snake, Animal Spirit of Peru and this is my Protector Hereto" Hereto waved to Jason and Jason waved awkwardly back to him
"Come on, let's go have dinner while the three discuss" Ken pulled Jason away from Ren and Yong leaving them with Snake
"What is the real purpose you're here?" Ren asked
"I'm really passing around, besides you should be happy that I'm here"
"When you slithering tongue comes around something is wrong" Yong said
"Alright, I'm going back to my territory, till we meet again" Snake disappeared into the darkness, then Yong and Ren

"Are you excited to be on the next part of training?" Ken asked
"Yeah, how hard will it be?" Jason asked
"I'm not your teacher" Ken said
"Wait then who is?"
"Ren"
"Why?"
"The next power is the elemental powers of the Animal spirit since Ren has two he'll go first then Yong"
"What kind of elemental powers?"
"You will see, how's the food?"
"Delicious"
"Good" Jason walked to his room after finishing dinner, this time his muscles didn't hurt like last night, he felt refreshed and happy. He thought about the hesitation he had before, he couldn't believe the people he loved most in his life were the ones holding him back from his real potential and now he can easily become a strong Protector with them gone. He laid back on his bed, closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep

Ren stood in his Palace, in a room that was covered in curtains and dark. He wasn't his usual self, his long red hair was a mess and his breathing quivered with every breath something was wrong.
"Master?"his servant said
"What is it?" Ren was asking harshly but his servant was use to it, it was that 'time' again
"It's here" his servant gave out a bundled gift to him then closed the door, Ren unwrapped the gift and put it next to the picture
"Happy birthday" he said to the person in the picture

Ren wasn't the only one like this so was Yong, instead of a confined room, he was at grave tomb looking down was the wind carried his tears away.
"Sir you asked for this" Fang said giving him a bundled gift then leaving
"I can't believe this is happening, but happy birthday" He said putting the bundled gift down on the grave.

Jason woke up as tears ran down his face, for some reason he felt sad and he didn't know why. He decided to get some fresh air but his heart felt heavy, Ken saw Jason coming out of his room
"Can't sleep?" He asked
"Yeah I keep crying for some reason like I've been hurt" Jason said taking a seat by the fire
"It must be that 'time' again"
"I'm not a woman" Jason said
"Not that, you can experience the emotions of your Animal Spirit and this right now is a hard time for both of them" Ken explained
"Why are they like this?" Jason said wiping away a tear from his eye
"I'll say it again, ask them that question" Ken said
"But what if they don't want to talk about it"
"Well, since you must know, There was something I left out during the Battle against Ka-oi there was another Animal Spirit that went against him"
"Who?"
"Peacock, Shenny she protected Nigeria, She was one of the most beautiful Animal Spirits and caught the eye of many people. Especially Yong and Ren, they were all friends and when Ka-oi was trying to rule the world, Yong, Shenny and Ren were trying to stop her but Yong's and Ren's  swords pierced her and they have been blaming each other since then when they should blame Ka-oi"
"Because of something they're unsure of, been there done that"
"You've been in love too"
"Recently the person I loved chose someone else, it hurt my heart so much but now I understand that love can go in one way and come back in another form"
"Those are strong words"
"I hope Yong and Ren can stop blaming themselves, when they do it becomes a a lot less hard and more easy"
"Same here, maybe you should tell them that"
"Let me try to go back to sleep" Jason went back to his room, laid down but felt a tear down his face again
"I'm so sorry guys" he whispered before closing his eyes.

The pounding on the door was waking Jason again making him tried quick, he knew today would be different, he looked outside and the sun wasn't up
"Once again, I want to throw his covers off"Yong said
"Clam down Dog, he's waking up"Ren said
"Did you call me dog again?"
"Maybe"
"Your getting comfy Scales"
"And here I thought it was uncomfortable"
"Already again?" Jason said getting up from bed and going outside where Ken was making his stew
"Today is a special day"he said seeing him
"Was it special to hear Ren and Yong argue early in the morning?" Jason said taking a seat
"That needs to be your alarm, seems like the only thing to wake you up, here eat up"Ken said giving him a bowl
"Are you ready for day 3 of training?" Ren asked
"We'll, I guess if I could learn quickly"
"Quickly? Elemental power doesn't come quick, it comes with patience and determination" Ren explained
"The sun is coming up, Ren?"
"Let's go to the river" Ren said

Jason, Ken, Owl, Yong and Ren took a hike up the mountains and away from the temple, Jason liked the view and the clothes Ken gave him were making sure he wasn't sweating so much, the morning sun made the hike delightful.
"The river we are going to is apart of the temple and you will see the reason why its far"Ren explained, Jason could hear the sound of water being pushed by a current into a stream and then by a turn he came to The River
"Welcome to The Corey river" Ren said, Jason eyes could not be taken off the water, beautiful fish were playing in schools and the sun gleamed making a beautiful bright reflection
"Whoa" he said under his breath
"Why is it called The Corey River?" Jason asked
"The river is embedded with Spiritual Power from spirit fish called Corey" Owl explained
"Cool, do they bite?" Jason said putting his hand where the fish were swimming
"We don't bite you dumb boy , we're more like Lion in the spirit realm so you can say we're laying around" the fish laughed at that joke but Jason gave an awkward smile
"Jason,  shall we begin?" Ren was standing on the shallow part of the river, Jason took of his shirt and joined him.
"So how do we do this?" He asked
"We do it by knowing the element first, Water is very special to the earth, it's makes the plants grow, gives energy to both Animals and Humans and it's in the body of the human, in order to control it we must do three things"
"What?"
"1 feel the water, not just around you but inside of you" Jason closed his eyes and did what his teacher told him to do, he could feel the water around him then the feeling expanded to feel what was inside of me
"2 listen" Jason heighten his ears and he could hear the movement of the fish in the water, the current and the sound of it going down a waterfall
"Lastly 3 empower it with your spirit"
"How?"
"Just see in you head then try to make it do by your actions" Jason exhaled then picked his hands up, he felt the water, heard the water and was sure he was moving it and when he opened his eyes
"How did he?" Yong asked Owl
"In one try" Owl said
Jason wasn't holding a drop of water but a wave
"Whooo, I can't believe this!!" He said
"Me neither, No one gets it on the first try, now let's see if you can add it with your martial art skills" Ren said
"Oh is that a challenge?" Jason said giving a smirk then started his techniques, he was moving like master already and Ren was really surprised at his student
"Very good, now shall we fight?" He asked Jason
"Sure Master Ren" Jason got into a position while Ren stood there
"Student first" he said smirking
"Alright old man" he said making Yong laugh
