Chapter 11

I came back home from my internship and sighed with exhaustion. While working, my colleagues noticed scratches on my arm and asked about them. I had to improvise an explanation, claiming that I was scratched by a stray cat. But really, her nails were eerily similar to that of a cat's.
Gosh! Everything reminds me of her...

As I was about to kick back and relax without a care in the world, Sasha entered the room with Jake hot on her heels. By the look on her face, it was clear that something bad happened.

"Need water?" I asked teasingly

"You'll be wanting buckets of water once you hear it." Jake said

"Good grief! Spit it out."

"Sasha swallowed and said, "My whole class knows that Amber is dating Sasha's big brother."

Hearing that, I felt like my mind had completely shut down in confusion and shock.

"What the heck!? Is that really true? Oh wait a minute... you two are just messing with me, right?"

"Can't you tell by the looks on our faces that we're serious?" Sasha snapped.

"But how the fuck would everyone else even know about this?"

"I haven't a clue how everyone else found out about it. Maybe someone learned that you two were dating and spread the rumor among the classmates."

"If that's the case, then it must have been someone from your class." Jake chimed in.

"I don't give a shit about all this. Is Amber alright? How did she react to all this?"

"She wasn't feeling well after finding out, so I gave her space and didn't talk to her... But everyone else was taunting her for dating her classmate's brother.

"Damn it! Let me text her right now."

" Don't text her yet. Wait for a few hours." Jake said

"Why?"

"Jake's right, she's likely still pretty upset right now. If you text her about this now, it could only make things worse. Let's give her a few hours to cool off before we reach out."

"Damn it! Is there nothing we can do?"

"Look, I'll try to find out how everyone found out about us. I didn't ask anyone anything because I was just caught up in everything. I could barely look at anyone. And our class is really dramatic, always making everything some big joke. Amber didn't even tell her friends about me since she was worried about word getting out."

Sasha and Jake left, but I was too impatient to wait and find out how Amber was doing. I just couldn't help myself from messaging her after hearing such shocking news.

Me: Are you alright? I just heard everything from Sasha.

To my surprise, she didn't reply right away like she normally would. I guess Jake and Sasha were right not to text her right away, since she probably was still pretty upset.

I started wondering how so many people suddenly learned we were dating. Maybe she had mentioned me to one of her friends who leaked the information. I should definitely talk to her about this. I don't even know what kind of jokes her classmates made.

Her message popped up

Her: yea, I'm fine

Me: are you sure? You know that you don't have to lie to me.

Her: why do you think I'm lying?

Me: Did you forget that your heart belongs to me, Tulip? You can try to hide away but it's impossible for you to escape me because together we are one.
