"WELL FUCK YOU TOO!"

you slowly bent down to pick up the smashed bits of glass, ignoring the hot tears that ran down your face. Accidently cutting your finger you hissed in pain and quickly ran it under cold water, feeling relief as the pain slowly faded and the blood stopped dripping.

You sighed to yourself wondering where it all went wrong. Just a year ago you and your boyfriend, Felix, were so in-love, like little kids going on their first date, everything was so innocent and surreal, you thought he was the one for you. But slowly you both started to drift away from each other, first you stopped kissing, then going out, then he stopped saying i love you and you did too. Then he went out more without telling you and fighting was just daily. It would always end up with one of you storming out the apartment you both tried so hard to save up for in hopes of starting your very own family one day.

But that obviously didn't work out.

you wonder why you still stay with him, was it because of the sex? was it because he filled that void in your heart? or was it simply because you weren't ready to accept that you two had both grown out of love.

-

It was 12:34pm now, he should have come home by now but was nowhere to be seen, you suddenly started getting really worried only thinking of the worst, until the door opened. A hot trail of smoke lingered after him, had he been smoking? You were sitting on the couch just parallel to the door, quickly adjusting the way you sat from a slouched position to tensing up. You never used to care how he saw you but now you weren't comfortable in being in the same room as him.

He quickly flicked a glance at you then went back to taking his shoes off and walked away, just as he was about to he noticed the bandage wrapped around your finger with pecks of blood littered around it. you unconsciously covered it avoiding eye contact, he just sighed and walked away, shutting the door with a loud slam. You felt as if your heart sank, tears welled up in your eyes threatening to fall but you held them back, why should you waste your tears on someone who obviously didn't care? He used to treat even the smallest of bruises you had, giving it love and attention, back then it made you laugh and thought it was pointless but now even if he asked if you were okay would be enough. How you longed for those days again...if only.

-

You woke up to the blaring sun leaking through the windows blinding your eyes, you must have fell asleep on the couch. You go into the room and see him sleeping with the most relaxed expression, it almost warms up your heart, you walk up to him and cover him with the blanket careful not to wake him up. A side of you missed seeing this every morning, the little things meant so much to you and you couldn't help but stare, his eyes started flickering open a bit and u quickly turned on your heels walking towards the bathroom.

After washing your face and taking a well needed shower you walk out with a towel wrapped around your body, searching for your clothes through the shared wardrobe you picked out your work uniform which was a simple blouse with your name on it. You jumped in surprise when you heard someone walking in, thinking you were alone. Felix stared at you watching the water drip down your exposed body, you quickly tried covering yourself more as his gaze never faltered, even though he was staring at you with cold eyes that had no emotion in them you felt like there was something deeper, something he was holding back on. He walked up to you and gave you your necklace, the first jewellery he bought you, you never took it off you must have forgotten it in the bathroom when showering.

"You left this." he looked the other way too embarrassed to look you in the eye, you just smiled softly and clipped the necklace on.

"Thankyou."

He just nodded and picked out his own clothes, changing in the same room as you, you both didn't care but the fact he just spoke to you shyly gave you butterflies and made this moment feel so... perfect.

You wish you could cherish it longer but both of you were running late to work, he offered to drop you off and you accepted. The car ride was silent but the soft sounds of music on the radio concealed that silence, You left with a simple "bye" and so did he, both of you going on your day as normal...you thought about when he gave you the necklace and smiled contently to your self.

Lets get this done with.
