When they get to their home, Meredith is waiting on the porch. She sees the police cruiser and yells for Eric. Eric comes running out of the house. The cruiser stops and Damon, Stefan, and Elena get out and run to Meredith and Eric.
As they explain what happened and how they escaped, the officer walks up and says that they are going to need a statement from each of the kids about what happened.
As the kids each give their own statements, Eric and Meredith calls everyone to tell them that the children were safe.
The next day Meredith and Eric get a phone call. It is from the police station. Eric answers it and says "Hello." The officer says that they have found who tried to kidnap the kids. He says okay and then the officer says that is was Mr. Dean, James Dean's father. At this Eric says that he will tell Meredith and that they want a restraining order against the whole family. The officer says okay and then they end the call.
