Eric can hear the doctors talking. Can make out what they are saying. Which only makes him worry more.
Eric is on the verge of tears by the time Mr. Dove gets to him. When Eric sees Mr. Dove's worried look, he puts his head in his hands. Mr. Dove sits down next to Eric and sighs.
"How long has it been?" says Mr. Dove, gently.
"55 minutes and 42 seconds since they wheeled her into the room." says Eric in a worried voice.
"I sent Emily over to your house to help Mrs. Hodge with the babies." says Mr. Dove.
"Okay." says Eric, as the doctor that he talked to earlier walks out of the room that Meredith is in. Eric stands up and then he sits back down.
Mr. Dove says "How is my daughter doing?"
"She has post partum fever. It is caused by an infection or excessive bleeding. In this case it is an infection. We will have to keep her for 2 to 3 days or until she is better." says the doctor.
"So she will be okay?" says Eric.
"Yes." says the doctor.
"Thank God." says Eric and Mr. Dove.
"She is still unconscious, so, you will have to come back tomorrow." says the doctor.
"Okay." says Mr. Dove.
