"You're welcome." The familiar stranger stated after lowering his gun and placing it in his pocket.

I could recognize that young English accent from anywhere.

"Nicholas?!" I exclaimed.

"Well, who the fuck else would it be?"

"How are you still alive? I thought everyone was dead!"

"Better question: Are you retarded?"

"How is that a better question?"
"You know you're not supposed to go outside alone, right? Especially when it is around 7-8 pm... Unless... you're the only survivor around..."

"No, it's just no one can go with me..."

"Why?"

"Well either everyone is too young or–" I hesitated.
"Just say–"

"Or the only other two people to go on supply runs with are sick or taking care of the one who's sick."

"What are they sick with?"

"Pneumonia..."

"Are they allergic to any antibiotics?"

"They need amoxicillin."

"You didn't answer my question."

"No,"

Right after I had said that he opened his backpack and threw a pill capsule at me.

"What's this?"

"Read the label."

"Amoxicillin? How do you have this?"

"I take any medicine I see."

"Oh my god, you have no idea how much this means to me right now! Thank you so much!" I hugged him without even realizing it. I felt too much relief to care at the moment.

"No problem... four-eyes." he chuckled

I laughed as I got onto my horse. but stopped to think for a moment.

"Hey, Nicholas?"

"What is it?" He replied as he turned back around.

"Do you have a group by chance?"

"Yea, but the people in it are extremely annoying and bitchy."

"Well, I guess you could join ours if you wanted."

"You sure? I know we have history and I don't want–"

"It's fine. We gotta survive somehow."

He gave in.

"Alright, I guess."

"Okay then, hop on. I have a two-passenger saddle so you'll be fine" He got on the horse with me and sat behind me.

"Hold onto those handles on the sides of the saddle." Nick nodded and held on.

"It's been a while since I've been called 'four-eyes'" I giggled.

A few hours later

"Alright, here we are." I confirmed.

"Wow! You hit the jackpot!"

"Well my Aunt Andrea owned this farm."

"What happened to her?"

"Dead," I replied.

"And how exactly do you guys have electricity?"

"Hydroelectricity. We live by a river. We also have Solar panels and backup generators just in case."
