𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐥𝐞𝐟𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 afternoon bus with George tailing her, Lucy was upstairs and Carolynne had cornered Lockwood in her room. Before the girl had left, she'd promised Carolynne a catch up.
"Are you going to fill me in?" Lockwood asked, "you know Holly?"
"Are you going to fill me in? What the hell happened?" Carolynne demanded, "I was only away four days!"
Lockwood was sorting through the papers on Carolynne's desk from the pile he'd brought them in. Carolynne noticed they had all been neatly paper-clipped, and organized with brightly colored labels. He didn't look up at her, "I thought you'd be happy. You're the one who suggested we get in a supporting member of staff, rather than a full-blown agent."
"So you're telling me it was my idea to hire Holly?" She stared at him, amazed.
"I told you we needed help. I told you we were going to find someone."
"Sure, and you waited until I was out of town to do it." Carolynne raised an eyebrow before they both drew together, "do you not respect me as a colleague anymore?"
"No not at all! It's not like that!" Lockwood quickly scrambled to answer, "hiring Holly while you were gone is a complete coincidence."
