She wasn't in long and the cool water was refreshing on her clammy skin. When she got out she wrapped her hair in a towel and tied her gown around her. Carolynne heard Lockwood groan when she walked out onto the landing and when she got downstairs she head George mumbling to himself in the kitchen.
She wasn't in the bedroom long before the phone in the hallway could be heard and there was a knock on her door. Carolynne dropped her towel on the chair before opening the door to see Lockwood standing there wearing his usual comfortable clothes and the phone in his hand.
"It's the hospital," he said and handed her the phone.
Carolynne held it up to her ear and leaned on the doorframe, "hello?"
Lockwood watched her with soft eyes as she listened to the woman on the phone. When she said goodbye she hung up and handed the phone back to him, "my prescriptions ready."
"I can go pick it up for you now," he smiled at her with a slight tilt to his head. "If you want?"
"You sure?"
