𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐞𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 was the first to spring from the table. But who could blame him? They needed clients and a reputation badly. While Lucy and George took the sofa Carolynne took the arm of the chair Lockwood had sat himself in, his arm rested along the top of it behind Carolynne's shoulders. The boys (primarily Lockwood) looked worse for wear as they hadn't had chance to sort themselves out after wraith hunting but the clients didn't seem to comment.
"I'm Sebastian Saunders and this is my partner, Pamela Joplin," Saunders began as he gestured towards the woman sitting down.
Mr. Saunders, whose card described him as a 'Municipal Excavator', was clearly the dominant personality of the pair. A tall man, he wore an ancient grey-green worsted suit. His face was weather-beaten, his cheekbones broad and high; he smiled round at them complacently with narrow, gleaming eyes.
"Business partner," the woman in orange gently corrected. Ms. Joplin carried an enormous and untidy bundle of documents, and had been gazing around at Lockwood's collection of Asian ghost-catchers with wide-eyedcuriosity. "We're Sweet Dreams Excavations. Maybe you've heard of us?"
"You're gravediggers?" Lockwood asked, his polite smile remained fixed, as if nailed in position.
"We prefer 'excavation and clearance'." Mr. Saunders pulled out their business card and handed it to Lockwood before he moved to sit down. "I'm sure you'll have seen the headlines, Mr. Lockwood."
