The Beginning

"Alright!", Worthy laughed. "See you lot later. Oh, and nice hair Shadow, bye!" and with that he walked off. Shadow felt all weird and tingly inside.

"He- he just complimented me!!"

Meilin laughed. "Yes, yes he did".

"And he invited me to come with him and Dawson for a walk tomorrow!"

"Yes he did", laughed Raisha.

"And- and- and"

"And?" prompted Tasha.

"And he is so, so, so, so handsome", Shadow sank down to the floor.

"He likes you, you know Shadow?" said Meilin. "You only put a single pleat in your hair and he noticed. Me and Tasha both have our hair done up all pretty today and did he see? Nope!"

"He- he does!?"

"Yeah, and I think he was blushing" said Raisha.

"He- he was!?" Shadow was lost for words. Worthy liked her? "Wait, no, what if it's all an act?"

"Shadow!" scolded Tasha.

"You two, are perfect!!" said Raisha "Hey, I've got an idea!"

"Hm?" Shadow said, standing up and beginning to walk out the door, the others beside her.

"Why don't you ask him out, tomorrow?"

"I- Raisha!"

"What? It's an awesome idea!"

"I think its good!" said Meilin.

"No!" said Shadow "He would never agree."

"He so would!" exclaimed Tasha, tripping a little in excitement.

"I- I guess..."

Worthy collapsed down on his bed.

"Why did I do that?" he asked his brother.

"Why did you do what?" Dawson replied, sidling over.

"I just asked Shadow if she wanted to come with us tomorrow."

"Again with Shadow. Always, Shadow this, Shadow that. You never shut up about her!"

"She is so beautiful though! I mean, have you seen her eyes?"

"I have."

"And the way she moves..."

"Mm hm." Dawson said, idly.

"And- Hey! Are you even listening?"

"Nope. I've heard it all before. Ever since she arrived, you have just been completely falling head over heels for her."

"I- Dawson!"

"What?" Dawson said dismissively, "It's true."

"I- Well, I suppose-"

"How about tomorrow, on the walk. You could ask her out."

"I- I could!"

"Yeah, I'll tell Jolt. He's good with this stuff, I'm sure he can help you."

"Alright." Dawson ran off to get Jolt.

The next morning, Shadow was to meet Worthy, Dawson, Tasha, Meilin, Jolt and Raisha in the courtyard. When she arrived, she got a little frightened, scared she didn't look good enough for Worthy. She shook her head.
