Carson's POV

I wasn't surprise to hear Jax's statement. I shook my head,

“Yes, it was a very upsetting phone call with Chance. He refuses to come home. So I filed an appeal for guardianship for Chance.” Both men nod slowly and sadly,

“Tell us what happens, we'll here to listen.” I nod, taking a drink of water. I knew that they meant well.

“He is still angry. He wants to stay there. He said that he doesn't desire to speak with me.” I try to control my tears,

“If the appeal goes through, what will happen?” Daren asks point blankly,

“if it does, I go get the kid. Bring him home, make sure he has home arrest. He needs to be punished. Plus I know Caleb has manipulated him I believe. I think he went crazy after losing Chase and Dalton.” Daren furrows his brow,

“i'm not sure, but I know that Dakota took both of their deaths very hard. Caleb never said anything. So I could never totally read Caleb.” I had to agree with him on that, I clear my throat.

“I decided to up the anti so to speak.” Both of them glance over at me in confusion,

“What is the world can you do now. The fact you got Chance and raised him, was huge.” I had to nod in agreement with Daren,

“Yes, I just came from the police station. I had a long talk with Captain Walker, I may be pressing charging of kidnapping against Caleb.” Both men look at me, I slowly nod.

“I've lost Heather, I don't want to lose Chance. I don't understand why Caleb always seems to win. I hate it.” Jax shakes his head, as he takes a bite of food. Then he speaks,

“We agree with you. Dakota may of given birth to him. But you and Heather were the ones who raised him. Why can't Chance understand that you love him.” I look down at the food left  on the plate.

“I do love him. I want him to come home. Charles keeps asking about him, i'm not sure what to tell him. So I just told him that Chance was visiting friends, I haven't even talked to Hailey yet.” Daren frowns at my words,

“How do you think Hailey will take all of this?” Now I frown  at his words,

“She's another story. She's behind all of this.” Both Daren and Jax look at me in total shock,

“What do you mean, Carson?” Daren chimes in, I sit back finishing my meal.

“She talked with Catlin, who went to Caleb. Then when they met at the conference, things came together.” Jax takes a drink of his tea,

“Wow I had no idea that Hailey would do this.” Jax states empathically, I nod quietly.

“I think I was feeling it was a teenage curiosity. It was innocent but now it's  gone to the point I can't control the narrative.” I notice that Jax furrows his brow for a few moments,

“Then see what Captain Walker says to him. it's a waiting game. If Caleb believes that i'll be pressing charges, he'll back down.” Daren frowns for a moment, after he takes a drink.

“Do you think he'll back down?” I stand up, glancing towards both of them.

“I really don't know this time. Caleb is calculating when it comes to moves to Dakota and his family. I have no idea what he would do when it comes to Chance. The fact that he hadn't called yet is interesting. He's waiting, thinking to be protective of Chance. Therefore I need to be careful.” They nod in agreement, as we pay for our meal leaving towards our cars. **

Caleb's POV
