"I'm tired," she said, turning to her comrade. "This entire experiment is draining and clearly, it's not working at all. I think we've gone too far. We hurt someone this time and almost killed them. That's too far, even for me."

"Relax, they're fine," her comrade said, "besides, you're not trying hard enough. Stick around for longer and I swear it'll be successful. Look at mine! Mine is pretty successful so far and I started long after you started yours."

"I don't think so," she said.

"Sweetie, you have to use other methods to control them and you'll achieve your objective," her comrade patted her shoulder.

"No! It'll be too cruel," she argued. "Besides, I think we already went far enough."

"It's not too cruel, because one day, they'll thank us for it," her comrade reassured.

"Are you sure this is what they want? Or is it just what you want?" she wondered aloud, "at first I agreed with you but I don't think they're ready for it yet. At this point, we'll have another catastrophe...."

"We won't have another one, I'm sure of it. And some of the other experiments have worked, haven't they? Think of the positive!"

"Very few," she shook her head, "and besides, the watcher, one of the Overseers, noticed us. They went and spoke with us. I think we better stop, otherwise we'll be reported and we'll have to face the consequences."

"NO!" her comrade insisted, "please, you're doing great. And please, it's not like they have the power to stop us."

"I don't want to do it anymore, I'm sorry," she said and started walking away. "And I'm going to try and set things right with them. And if you actually are as 'good' as you say you are, then you won't stop me from making this decision."

Her comrade crossed their arms. "Fine," they pouted, "but you're going to regret this."

"No, I won't," she said before turning away. "Because unlike you, I'm doing the right thing. I'm not going to hurt any more innocent beings anymore."
