She laid them down on the table. "Okay," she said, "first things first, this is going to be a lot of information to take in so I hope you listen carefully."
Horizon and I nodded.
"Good," Fleur flipped open an important-looking envelope with intricate files. "We'll start with your identification first."
She handed us a shiny card with our faces on it. "This is your identification card identifying you as a legal permanent resident of the USA. This is just in case anyone asks. Anyway, make sure you keep it and don't lose it, okay?"
I studied my card. "Wait, how did you get an image of our faces?" I asked.
Fleur shook her head. "Allurie and I can see into other realms, yes? All I had to do was to memorize your features, then draw them. I'm actually a pretty good artist so that was easy. Then, I had to contract someone to put together your cards illegitimately as well as your passports."
At that, she handed us some sort of a book. "It's another piece of identification. It's useful in case you lose your PR card and also if you somehow need to travel to other countries on Earth. I doubt you'll have to do that but we can't be too careful, can we?"
Then, it was Horizon's turn to ask a question. "Why are we 'Harry Silvio' and 'Alexa Parisi?'" he asked.
"Your English is also pretty good. A bit heavy with a Shallngsean accent though but that's okay, we can pretend that you're European. That's what your passport says about you guys anyway. It's a good passport to have in case you ever need it. Oh, yeah, I've changed our names to more common ones so you guys stand out less. Your first names are very uncommon and your last names are even more uncommon. It'll help you blend in. I'm sorry, I know you probably want to keep your names but it's for your safety."
Horizon and I nodded as we closed the passports and placed both the passport and PR card back on the table. I'd probably move them somewhere inside my knapsack for safekeeping later. Then, Fleur took a good look at us and contorted her features.
"I think the next thing we should do is to change your features. Your ears will definitely stand out and Horizon, your hair will stick out. As for your eyes and skin tone, they blend in well enough so you don't need to change them."
I nodded, I had to have my long wavy caramel hair trailing down the entire day to keep my ears hidden while Horizon wore a hat. Horizon even had the added challenge of keeping his wings hidden.
"Let's do that right now. Didn't Allurie send you some serums and hair ink?" she asked before adding, "oh, and you should practice calling each other 'Alexa' and 'Harry' so that you can get used to it."
We nodded before Fleur continued. "Do you guys need help with it or do you know how to apply the serum and hair wash?"
We nodded again. "Okay, then while you do that, I'm going to find some clothes for you guys to wear. I guess you could wear the clothes that you packed but they are a bit medieval and outdated. And Horizon, your shirts have rips in the back so your wings could stick out. Though the rip isn't that noticeable, it'd be weird to wear this on Earth. I'll probably stitch up the back. So it might be better to have a mix of modern clothes and old clothes. Okay? And we can get some more clothes this weekend. Oh, and by the way the bathroom is across from the dining room."
We said okay before Horizon and I headed to the couch where our bags were placed. We rummaged around and got the appropriate serums and hair inks. We headed to the bathroom. It was quite similar to the ones in Zenobia but it looked more technologically advanced, with sleeker, shiny surfaces and levers for each component in the bathroom.
We started with the serum for smooth ears. I carefully took out a single glass vial and placed it on the counter. I got Horizon to turn around and face the mirror as I drew the serum with the needle, then injected it into the tips of Horizon's ears with a firm press. Horizon had to bite back a scream. Afterward, the tip of his ear was blazing red but it looked a little less pointed so it was evident that the serum had worked. Though, it'd take some time for it to set in and for his ears to be fully rounded.
