The three of you wish your parents a good trip, a good time, a lot of fun. You tell them to take care and Lauren tells them to not do something that she'd do and her dad laughs with a wink while your mom just shakes her head with a smile. Sofi hugs her mom and Mike tight, telling them to bring her back something good. Mike tells her he'll bring her back only the best and she smiles.
And then they're off and it's just the three of you, standing somewhat awkwardly in the front yard. Sofi leaves the two of you to play with the neighbor and you and Lauren stand there, not sure what to do.
You clear your throat awkwardly and she looks at you with a smirk and your mouth gets dry when you realize just how green her eyes are. 'Shall we, uh, go inside?' You ask, looking at your sister play to hide your blush.
She chuckles and says, 'sure,' in her raspy voice and it hits you square in the gut. You can't help but feel like you're in trouble.
It's going to be a long week.
