Mike just pulled into the parking lot at the air port and I'm starting to get nervous. I've never been on a plane before and the whole idea of it scares me. You're trapped inside an object thats flying thousands of feet in the air, that could explode or crash at any second. If something like that goes wrong then you basically have no chance of survival and you have no control over what could happen.

Planes scare the shit outta me.

Once we were all out of the car Mike handed Lauren a hoodie and a pair of sun glasses to put on. I guess they don't want people to recognize her, it makes sense.

I felt a small hand grab mine and I looked down to see Maddie looking up at me with a huge grin on her face.

"I'm so excited Sky, Taylor says that we're gonna fly through the clouds. Are we really?" she asked all in one breath, excitement filling her eyes.

"Yeah baby we are,"I said back, looking up at the sky. We're gonna be up so high. Fuck, I'm scared. If Maddie sees that I'm scared then she'll get scared. I have to at least act like I'm not absolutely terrified.

"Come on Sky!" Maddie said, dragging me towards everyone who had already started walking towards the air port.

"You ever been on a plane before?"Taylor asked, moving to where she was now walking beside me.

"Nope" I said, trying to keep my voice steady.

"You excited? Seems like she is," She laughed, pointing her thumb at Maddie who was smiling from ear to ear and occasionally doing a little jump.

"Thats one way to put it," I said, keeping my eyes on the ground.

"They're not that bad, taking off and landing is the worst part. Other than that it's pretty cool."

I nodded in response and kept walking. I think she noticed that I didn't want to talk about it anymore because didn't say anything back and walked over to Maddie and offered to give her a piggy back ride to which she happily agreed.

.

The second I actually stepped foot on the plane I felt like I was about to puke. You know that feeling where you're so nervous that you feel sick? Yeah thats how I feel.

All the seats are in rows of twos. god I hope I'm not next to Lauren, all it'll take for her to see how scared I am is her looking me in the eye and I don't want anyone to know scared I am. I don't like it when people see me scared, or crying or anything like that. It makes me feel weak.

"Can I sit next to Taylor?" Maddie spoke up, looking at Mike for approval.

"Yeah that will work. Okay so Maddie with Taylor, me by myself, Chris with Clara, and Lauren with Skylar sound good?"

No, I wanted to say but I kept my head down and quietly walked to my seat instead. I sat down in the seat that isn't the window seat, god I'm so scared.

"Do you not want to sit by the window?" Lauren asked, before she sat down.

"Nah I'm good, you sit there," I replied, looking at the seat in front of me hoping that she can't see the look in my eyes.

"You sure? I heard you talking to Taylor earlier. This is your first time flying right?"

"Yeah," I sighed

"The window seat is the best seat, I've ridden planes millions of times and sat in the window seat. You should take it."

"Really, I'm good. I'm probably just gonna sleep the entire time anyways. You take it," ha yeah like I could actually sleep. Theres no way I'm sleeping on this flying death trap.
