"Skylar come on we're gonna be late!" My brother yelled up the stairs.
I internally groaned at the thought of having to through another day of school. Oh wait sorry, did I say school? I meant hell. School is so pointless, you're forced by the government to go to a building every day surrounded with people that you don't like and learn things that will be of no use to you in the future. Fuck you government.
"I'm coming just give me a second!" I yelled as I tried to put my bracelets back on my wrist as quickly as I could without disturbing the fresh cuts on my wrist. I flushed the bloody toilet paper that I used to clean myself up down the toilet before leaving the bathroom conveniently located in my room. This bathroom is one of the reasons why I chose this room when we moved here two and a half years ago.
I grabbed my back pack, making sure that the sleeves of my hoodie were pulled down as well, and headed downstairs to my waiting brother.
"What took you so long? This is the third time this week that you've almost made us late Skylar," my older brother scolded, grabbing his keys and standing up from the chair he was sitting in.
"I'm sorry, I over slept," I lied straight through my teeth. "It's not that big of a deal Luke, we always make it on time. No need to freak out," If theres one thing you need to know about Luke, it's that he can't stand being late. Luke is the type of guy that seems like a saint on the outside but on the inside he's nothing short of a demon.
"Fine, but if this happens again I'm telling mom,"
"Good lord I thought you were 18 not 8," I muttered under my breath.
I ignored him and walked by him through the front door heading to the car. I noticed that it was raining and put my hood up to protect my hair that I straightened this morning. It took me a long time to straighten it and when it gets wet it gets really curly and frizzy. I had reached the car and was waiting on him to finish locking the door to the house so that he would unlock the car.
What seemed like hours later he had finally unlocked the car, allowing me to get in and take off my hood. When he got in I had already shoved my headphones in my ears and turned the music up as loud as I could bear it this early in the morning, in attempt to eliminate any chance of a conversation between us. Me not really wanting to talk to anyone at the moment.
I stared out the window as he drove, watching all the people driving their cars too. Wondering where they were going, what they felt right now, what they've been through, how their life was like at home, and anything and everything you could wonder about a person's life. I do this a lot, It creeps me out a little though. You just get so lost being revolved around your own life that when you stop to think that there are billions of other people out there living their own lives and going through their own personal struggles it freaks you out a little bit. Well for me it does.
I felt a light tap on my shoulder, so much for avoiding a conversation. I turned around, taking out my ear buds in the process, to hear what my ever so amazing brother would have to say to me.
"Skylar we're here, why are you just sitting there. Come on," Luke said as he grabbed his back pack and got out of the car.
We were already here? It only felt like 30 seconds had gone by.
It had stopped raining as bad during the short 5 minute drive here, but I put my hood back up anyways, not wanting to take any chances of ruining my hair. I got out of the car and grabbed my back pack, starting the walk from where we were parked to the school. I go to a relatively small school, theres about 250 students attending Oakland High. (A/N I'm not sure if this is an actual school or not, I just wrote down the first name that popped in my head.)
