"Scared is what you're feeling.
Brave is what you're doing."
– Emma Donoghue

ˏˋ°•*AS KASIA WALKED ALONGSIDE DEAN, TOWARDS THE AWAITING towards the awaiting hovercraft that would transport her to the arena, she couldn't help but feel her anxiety growing with every passing second. Despite her best efforts to quell her worries, she couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that had settled deep within her.

Still, she took a deep breath and got into the vehicle, determined to face whatever lay ahead.

As she walked, a man in white approached her and politely requested to see her wrist. Without any hesitation, she offered him her arm.

"Your tracker." He said inserting the thin needle into her arm. A red dot flashed in her body and a slight pain was caused by it.

She looked away and they started flying toward the arena. Having Dean's presence reassured her a little bit about what was gonna happen.

She had lost track of time during the journey and couldn't determine how long it had taken her to reach their destination. It could have been ten minutes, thirty minutes, or even an hour.

She was given a light web suit with a black body and white arm. The suit was light with no thermal, which probably meant it would be in a desert or a jungle.

"Sixty seconds to launch."

Said the operator's voice through a speaker.

"I thought you'd like to keep it, with everything that happen."

As her stylist presented the golden chain to her, she couldn't help but notice the familiar glimmer. It was the same chain she had adorned the day before. A warm smile spread across her face as she pulled him into a tight embrace.

"Thank you, thanks for everything." She muttered into his shoulder.

"Ten seconds to launch."

They let go of each other a she stepped in the translucide tube. They shared one last glance, before it was over.

"I'm on your side remember."

And the glass door closed as she got elevated by the platform. A single tear fell done her cheeks but it was already gone when she was up in the arena.

She blinked a few times trying to adjust to the light that blinded her eyes. The air was thick and warm, light breezes could be felt and water surrounded the area of the cornucopia.

Rocks were placed to separate each time two Tributes. She couldn't spot Finnick or Nash. Just like she couldn't spot the District 12 and Mags. Johanna was not planning for this alliance but if she had found her, there would have been one.

"Let the 75th Hunger Games begin. May the odds be ever in your favour."

The countdown started, ten seconds until they wouldn't be holding hands anymore, ten seconds until the Games started.

She never swam a lot in her life, but she still knew how to. Some of those people never knew how to, so they would probably drown before the real fight even began.

Kasia sucked in a large breath of air when the clock hit its limit and plunged into the water trying her best to swim. She opened her eyes still trying to stay alert underwater.

She climbed the path of rocks using her arms to give more support. She did not even care about the sharp feeling against her leg and stood up. After running onto them, she realized how slippery they were.

There was just the District 5 man already at her side of the Cornucopia and he immediately grabbed the spears trying to impale her throat.

Kasia crouched on the ground quickly, thanking her reflexes, and gave a kick in his leg making him slip on the watery rocks. His skull banged on it and he let out a loud groan.

She seized a sharp knife at her disposition. But when she went over at the man, he was standing right up already and he plunged his knuckles into her jaw.

This time, she was the one in the ground and she felt the blood rushing down her neck a little more than she expected. She used her knife, trying to fight him back but the punches he gave were strong.

When Kasia was about to throw the knife on his face, a small pike appeared to have transpercée his chest. A cannon went on and she looked at Nash over her with the same spear the men used.

"Get up Kas, here." He handed her in his hand and together they tried to track their allies.

She got up, wiping the blood and she spouted Katniss shouting her arrows at a man coming. She ran to her side at the same time Finnick appeared with his usual smirk turned into a serious one.

Katniss armed her bow again twirling around as she faced the three of them.

"Good thing we're allies, right?"

Finnick showed her his wrist with a gold bangle that apparently meant a lot to her since that changed the expression on her face.

"Where did you get that!"

"Where do you think?" He added.

While they were chatting, Kasia noticed a man getting dangerously close to them so did Finnick.

"Duck!" He warned her and Kasia threw her knife in the middle of his heart. Another canon went on.

This was her first death and she already felt the pain of doing it. Knowing that when you throw your weapon, you'll take a life with you.

"Don't trust one and two. You two hold them off, Nash take this side, I'll go find Peeta."

So they did as they were told and she stood next to Katniss while Finnick gave her the knife that was still in the Tribute's chest.

"Nice shot." He whispered and ran somewhere to find the boy.

The 12 Tributes shot her arrow right in a girl's legs, but she jumped at the final second escaping the munition.

The Games had just begun and it's like all the other Tributes went hiding.

"Kasia, Katniss! Mags found him. He's over here." Finnick yelled as he arrived at the girl's side.

They didn't need to be told twice and they followed the boy's lead to find an anxious Mags pointing at two men fighting. One of them was Peeta.

Peeta was getting slammed into the pillars and it was hard to tell if his fists were hurting his attacker. But once the two bodies went underwater, there was no way to tell which one was alive.

Then the canon went off, again. Leaving a body coming back on the surface, but no way to tell if this was Peeta.

Kasia looked over at Katniss' expression and she really did look worried she might have lost her 'lover.'
