The next morning, you found yourself missing Tech's arms around you. He had grabbed the pillow and blanket from your bed and resumed sleeping on the couch, and you didn't have the heart to tell him he didn't have to. As much as you wanted to share your bed with him, everything, including your friendship, was new. You didn't want to push anything on him.

You hear the shower running, wondering how long Tech has been up. You had both enjoyed some pasta from a local Italian place and talked about your plans for today. You were going to make a couple stops, including to a craft store for a sketchbook for Tech, and some more yarn for you. You decide that you should get up and make some breakfast before he gets out, so he has some privacy. The perils of having the only bathroom be in your room.

You head to your kitchenette to grab some eggs and cheese to make omelets. You add a little bit of cinnamon to the egg mix and cook both sides of the egg before adding the cheese to melt. By the time you are done with the first one, Tech is standing in his new clothes at the entrance. You smile up at him while you plate the omelet and hand it over.

"What is this?" Tech adjusts his goggles as he takes in the subtle hints of spice. "That is a cheese omelet with a little bit of cinnamon. Let me know what you think. If you want some more spice, there is some salsa in the fridge." You continue with making your omelet the same way as he takes a bite and hums positively. Once you are finished cooking yours, you both sit down on the couch and sit in companionable silence.

You look toward him, contemplating asking how he slept, since he didn't end up in your bed. Before you can ask, he speaks. "I had another dream last night. I…" He pushes his goggles up his nose and takes a deep breath. "...I did not want to wake you up again." He holds his hand up to cut off your retort. "I know that you would have wanted to know, which is why I am telling you now. I just did not want to disturb your sleep." You sit back on the couch, letting him continue.

"I was falling again, but this time from Eriadu. The fall just seemed to be endless. Then I heard Crosshair, his accusations again. He said it was all my fault that Omega was captured. He just kept screaming in my head and all I wanted was for the fall to just end and his words to finally be silenced. It was unnerving, especially with how…angry he was about Omega. He saved her that night on Kamino, but he never cared for her like the rest of us had come to."

You listened to his words, and your heart hurt for him. You itched to bring him into your arms and hug him. You also wondered, would it be beneficial to tell him what had happened in the story, after his "death"? You leaned toward Tech as you asked, "May I give you a hug?"

Tech was taken aback, not expecting you to offer him a hug. You had always comforted him by squeezing his hand. He slowly nodded his head as you scooted closer to him, and pulled him into a hug. He was tense for a moment, but relaxed as you rested your chin on his shoulder. You held onto him for as long as he allowed, letting him go once he made a move to pull back. Once you were face to face, you cupped his cheek and looked into his honey eyes. "It is not your fault, Tech. No matter what that brilliant brain says, it is not your fault."

Tech closes his eyes for a moment, and nods into your hand. You gently reach up and place a chaste kiss on his other cheek, causing Tech's eyes to open wide as he takes the moment in. He relaxes once more at your smile, and brings his forehead to yours in a keldabe, a small smile of his own appearing.

The first stop of the day is to get Tech a smartphone, and upgrade yours. As you enter the store, you head over to the Android devices. As you show Tech the phones that are on sale, a representative comes over.

"Hello! How can I help you two today?" You turn toward her as Tech continues looking over the phones. "Hi. I'm here to add a new line and to upgrade my phone. We were looking at this phone," you point to the Galaxy S23 Ultra. As the lady goes over the features of the phone with you both, you find your hand is close to Tech's, knocking knuckles. Your pinky gently wraps around his, and while you wait with bated breath for his hand to disappear, his pinky locks with yours. You can't help the smile that shines on your face as your mind does somersaults.
