If it's not that expensive but with your own money, he would still feel bad. He would 'awe' and pat your head then kiss you either on the lips or forehead.
If you ever got him a living animal, like an illegal BABY monkey for his illegal adult monkey, he would immediately love you all over again. Let's just say, he's a monkey lover.
If it was a troll(💀) he would take it in with care and then just throw it away to his sister to use.
(I've seen so many headcannons where people say that Veneer is a talented singer but Velvet clearly isn't, so he feels bad and fakes being bad at it. You do not wanna know how many times I have cried over it😪)
