Bouquet

If every day was a petal, would you relinquish our time together?
If my blood was chlorophyll, and someone slashed across my chest, would it have to be Valentine's Day in order to have a chance at life again?
If my love were to be like the leaves that fall right before the winter you give me, showing you every little last thing I could give you, would you scoff at me because of how cold it feels?
If my legs were stems, would they become too inconvenient to spread?
If my will to persue greater things and to live the life I've always dreamed of were my roots... and they were drying up because of lack of nutrients, would you blame the flower for losing color?
Time will keep on ticking
I will keep on giving
But all I've ever wanted
Is nothing more than a simple bouquet
